Has anyone else been having issues with the Deferi ground daily (called Emancipation)? My client is consistently crashing when playing and I have redownloaded all hogg files and verified files via the launcher.

I had a lot of problems with the Deferi ground missions (which I now avoid) and also a good number of the Delta space missions. It seems to me to be sloppy coding/graphics work that doesn't take into account that not everybody runs with a super computer. It wouldn't crash (often), just the whole thing locks up and the frame rate drops to less than 1Hz. I'm assuming the space missions are due to the use of particle dynamics or some such because it's usually when there's Malon spamming their clouds of doom or excessive background nebula - and no, turning down the graphics settings doesnt really help. No idea what the problem with the ground maps is.

Also, if you're trying to do the whole group of Deferi dailys, be warned that (when I last checked) the convoy mission hasn't been restored in the new quadrant map layout. So you can't get the rewards for the whole batch.

This has actually been resolved. It was the Rescue Deferi Captives that had the issue. If you go up to around the Breen system, you should be able to find the Breen patrol. The last time I did the group of missions, I was able to complete them all.

I wonder if we're gonna see more of the Devidians with the new TCW story arc?

There is a new TCW arc? Last I heard they had only geared up with the Iconian war.
It's the Mirror Universe, actually. I haven't played the mission, though, so the TCW may come up, for all I know. They added some new missions to the start of the Cardassian arc, too, to help set up the new story line.

Looks like I'll have to get back into playing the missions again, only reason I ever go on STO these days as I play them on my 2 KDF characters only. Not interested in all the grind anymore.

And the details are up on the new carrier we all (didn't) vote on. Actually, she reminds me a little of the Typhon, but they've called her the Jupiter to erase everyone's memories of the monstrosity that used to be in game.

http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/9667053

LtCdr Eng/Intel seat and 3x Lt seats, one of which is universal. 3,3,4 console arrangement with the 4 being sci (+1 Eng for Fleet), dual hangers, and a console and trait that could actually be useful. This could be an interesting ship...

A shame Cryptic is too lazy to design a new Klingon carrier, it has to be another Federation ship. :yuck:

I actually think this vessel is based on Thypon (1st picture reminds me a lot)... If you don't have idea what to make, than use something old to make something new...

Winter Wonderland starts again on Thursday. No news yet on the new T6.

Cryptic really need to get their act together on the forums. Cyber Monday sales on for 24hrs, 20% off again.

Edited again - the ship giveaway is a T6 Breen Dreadnaught. No stats yet but the trait could actually be a useful one:

Enhanced Power Condensers Starship Trait. While this trait is slotted, using Power Siphon or Tachyon Beam will provide you with a boost to maximum power levels and provide a boost to maximum shield hit points for a short time.

They seem to be hitting Federation ships with that stick since launch. :lol2:

TBH take away the ships seen in the shows and books and I can count on one hand the ships that look nice of the Federation side.

That all said yeah the ship is ugly but then again it ain't a beauty pageant now is it? :)

I don't know if I'll get this, still a bit peeved that it's not the same reward tokens as last year as I still have 400 of them sitting in the bank on some of my characters. The grind in this game is criminal and the fact that if you miss an event you can't ever get the ships again.

All a matter of personal taste. I like it and I will be getting it. The ship trait will come in handy for at least one of my characters and having another ship for the admiralty system will be nice. Running the Klingon campaign can net you a fairly nice sum of dilithium.

Indeed. For instance, I actually think the Assault Cruiser variants are fine, even if the Sovy needs a new model, but the Exploration Cruisers are some of my least favorites.

agreed. There are several models that needs some love. I imagine the Sovy will get reworked when thd T6 comes out.

Just one question to those of you who have participated in the game more than I recently. Is it correct that after you get it on one character you can claim it for free via the event rep store on any other on the account?

I only ask as after the Dyson ship grind (doing it on 3 characters wore me out).

Also is it possible to grind up previous year ships that players may have missed due to not playing the game?

Yes, once you unlock the event ship on one character, all characters on your account can claim the ship for free. If you have a previous years ship, you may claim it on any characters for free. There is one caveat though. You may have to log onto that character that has the ship for the game to recognize that you have unlocked it. That happened to me when they first made the change. I wanted the Klingon dyson ship for my KDF sci character but it wouldn't let me claim it. Once I logged onto my Romulan sci character, I was able to claim it on all characters. If you unlocked the ship on a character you have deleted, you may have an issue and may be out of luck.

Also, if you have not unlocked a ship on any character from prior events, you can no longer claim them. They are now one year issues and are retired after the event. If you have last years event ship already slotted, you may continue it this year with either left over event currency from last year or use this years. If the event project is not completed by the end of the event, any slotted projects will be deleted.

That sucks, as I have missed most of the Anniversary and Summer events due to one reason or another. Hopefully they might change this in the future to help out both new players and players who missed the events.

I agree that it is not entirely fair. It would be nice if they didn't retire the projects. I guess they decided that since they made the ship account wide unlocks, they needed to take something back.

Also, the Winter Event is now live. I have already completed my first race.

So there is a 20% ship sale going on this weekend. I have took advantage and was able to get both the Vandal and Valdore ships for their consoles. The sale expires tomorrow morning if anyone has a ship they want to get.

This new Federation Starfighter Carrier - Jupiter Class looks OK; reminds me of the Stargazer, the basic Hull set up is very similar and it looks like the designers didn't really put a whole lot of thought into the next generation Starfighter Carrier.

In my opinion they should of taken the basic hull structure of the Typhon Class Starfighter Carrier and evolved it into a next Generation design with a Sleeker Hull an with 4 - Defiant Style Engine Pods that can separate into S-Foils (like the S-Foils of the T-65/70 X-WingFlighter) for Warp Flight.

The Next Generation Starfighter Carrier not only should be bigger, but should have a compliment of 4 Fighter Squadrons and have enough Firepower at the Level of a Battleship/Dreadnought to Defend itself if it didn't have Support Ships with them (Escorts, Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers).

This is my idea of what a Next Generation Starfighter Carrier should of been designed for in STO.

They came up with eight designs and got people to vote on them. The people voted for by far the worst of the eight in my opinion.
