Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

The Next Generation Starfighter Carrier not only should be bigger, but should have a compliment of 4 Fighter Squadrons and have enough Firepower at the Level of a Battleship/Dreadnought to Defend itself if it didn't have Support Ships with them (Escorts, Frigates, Destroyers and Cruisers).
They came up with eight designs and got people to vote on them. The people voted for by far the worst of the eight in my opinion.
It's still a big improvement over the previous Jupiter-class.
And she is exactly that..
And STO gets it wrong once more who would have guested
The ship from the Invasion game was the Typhoon. They are not permitted to use any material from any other games due to licensing restrictions and copyright laws. The Seraphim class is a real beauty and in many ways similar to the Armitage. They just designated it as a escort carrier rather than a full carrier. They did also design a new frigate for the new carrier as well.
Maybe they'll give other uniforms to Klingon and Romulan players later?I seem to have misplaced my last post on STO releases, but today it Open Jacket Uniforms - but its for Feds only.
Need to be at least level 30 to claim, though. You can't have a lower level character claim it then hold on to it until their an appropriate level.Today it's T4 ships. The Ar’kala Tactical Warbird, the Puyjaq Class and the Sao Paulo, so one for all factions. Go go go!
First look at the Tier 6 flagships. The scimitar is about to get Moooore Power!

No wonder the dilith exchange has spiked again!
Here's a question: is the ugly stick itself ugly or does it only make other things ugly?I'm afraid the ugly stick shall rear it's uglifying head

Perhaps it was fashioned from an ugly tree? And if it is ugly, what made the ugly stick ugly?
I like that he Sojourner goes back to the concept drawing initially behind the Odyssey. Hopefully the parts can be mixed-and-matched to create some decent-looking ships. The hextuple nacelle concept for the Klingons is interesting...and not in a good way...Stats and pictures of all nine types are up

The klinks get bricks again, the Feds are... meh, and the Romulans are a mix.
The Sojourner's nacelles are interesting, but I do not like its saucer. It's not that it's bad, (it worked fine on the Galaxy) but it just doesn't fit with the body and neck. The Klingon ships are pretty derivative and meh. I wish they could have thought up a new high end Romulan design without making more Scimitar variants. The Scimitar isn't even a Romulan design.Stats and pictures of all nine types are up

From now until 10AM PST on Monday, February 15th, 2016, we are having a 20% ship sale. Enjoy not just a discount on our ships, but fleet modules, dry dock slots and ship upgrade tokens as well! Have you been eyeing a new ship or ship bundle in the C-store? Now is the time to grab the ship you've always dreamt of commanding!
- All ships in the C-Store are 20% off excluding the new Flagships (T6 versions of the Odyssey, Scimitar and Bortasqu’).
- This includes bundles which are comprised only of ships.
- This does not include bundles that have items other than ships in them.
- The ship upgrade token, ship upgrade token bundle, and the fleet module are all 20% off as well.
- Each time a player buys a Tier 5 ship, they will receive a free ship upgrade token.
- This only occurs when the Tier 5 ship is bought for the first time on an account.
- The Claim for this token will appear in the Promotions tab of the C-Store.
- When the player clicks claim, they will receive a bound to account ship upgrade token in their inventory and the product will disappear from the promotions tab.
- These tokens stack so if a player buys 3 Tier 5 ships at once, they will be able to claim the promotion 3 times.
- Tier 5 Ship bundles will have the equivalent amount of tokens as the number of ships in the bundle.
- Example: Buying the Dyson Mega Bundle will give players 9 tokens.
- Dry dock slots are 20% off
- The Pathfinder Voyager + Interior MT will be re-added to the store just for this sale period.
- Players can only buy this if they have not already purchased the Pathfinder solo ship or the Intrepid Bundle.
I think what they may do is keep the specialization system, having it utilize separate currency from the revamped skill system. There wouldn't be much strategy to the skill system if you could continue earning infinite skill points and unlock everything in the new skill tree.I'm optimistic. The article didn't mention if our admirals would get skill points to spend, though. It irked me that my skill progression suddenly stopped with my Fed character.
Of course, but I stopped being able to spend skill points eight levels ago. I expected to be able to go to the level cap and nothing in the game warned me beforehand that I couldn't. Since this new system is directly tied to level, they may change that. There wouldn't be much strategy to the skill system if you could continue earning infinite skill points and unlock everything in the new skill tree.
