• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Those fighters look great, love the X-Wing and Headhunters!

Only a small question with the B-Wing, I'm afraid I never paid attention in FoC, but is the craft still sideways with the Foils in attack position? In Rogue Leader I remember it standing straight up with them open and sideways when closed.

And on that same line of inquiry I guess, is the open and closing of the s-foils possible in A2? I'm afraid I'm severely behind on what's possible with the developments the FO Team are making.

In FO, yes. In stock A2 you can do it using the patch project, but it's basically an older version of the modern FO replaceweapon code, and therefore it's less sophisticated and can't be used by the AI.

Terra did answer the A2 S-Foils question for me, however I won't be using that if/when I put these in-game. I will be using the same method as stock FO does.

As for FOC, they didn't have the B-wing rotate, I think due to the limitations of the game engine and all that.

I did the V-wing yesterday, however after making a fighter model today that I have to rebuild I haven't really gotten much done, I did a bit on a Imperial Corvette taking a break from fighters after that last fighter model issue. Plus fighting off a cold has made it difficult to concentrate, lets hope it's only a 24 hour one. Since I don't get sick off the mild and light colds really kick me around. This is the first time I have been sick in like almost 2 years.

Fleet Operations also has the capability of having a self targeting cannonimp now, which you can use to boost capabilities and which the AI can use "in RL" then as well (since it's a normal weapon).

Thank you Adm_Z, it's much appreciated. Lets see if I can get the Imperial Fighters done. I actually found out that my previous high poly models with a tad of poly reduction will work perfectly, so there is a time saver. :thumbsup:

Built with the intention of making lower poly versions, I decided to make the higher poly versions first to match the other high poly Imperial fighters I've got. I'll just poly reduce these versions, with just re-doing the cockpit pods.

I still have the Tie Advanced x1 (aka Vader's Tie) and Tie Avenger (the successor and production model to Vader's Tie) to do. Then I will do the low poly versions for use as mass produced fighters. I think 3k is a little extreme for a fighter. :lol:

Also a something I did a little earlier as well.

I am happy you like it Thunder. :)

I have the Tie Avenger to do today, it's the production model of the Tie Advanced x1 and is a cross between the Interceptor and Advanced. After I get her done I will be looking at doing the low poly versions of the ships. :thumbsup:

The Tie Avenger is now complete, all I need to do now is make a poly reduced cockpit module and then I will have the lower poly versions. :)

Finished up the low poly Imperial fighters now. Now to move on to either finishing up the pirate fighters or to do some more capital ships.

Nah, I just model. I can model it's just getting things completed is the issue for me. Last night I finished a Mandalorian fighter for the Zann, which leaves only one fighter left. :thumbsup:

I am a big fan of the Star Viper, it's just so unusual and I think that's what I like about it.

Where was the Avenger from? It looks great, the combination of the Advanced and Interceptor designs appeals to me.

It appeared in the games:
  • Star Wars: TIE Fighter (First appearance)
  • Star Wars: X-wing vs. TIE Fighter
  • Star Wars: X-wing Alliance

Here is the wiki page for toy, I use wookiepedia quite often in regards to my Star Wars work and trying to get designs and things right on the ships. Last thing I want to do is put a ship from 140ABY in a 2ABY mod. :lol:

Well I have finished all the fighters now, I had a great difficulty trying to find a 5th fighter for the Zann and in the end I decided upon the Black Sun fighter from EAW.

Yes I am thinking having only he starbase produce them when you get to level 5, plus I am also thinking perhaps making it avatar specific. As I probably will with the Tie Advanced.

Since I am finished with the fighters I have started to do some work on stations. I did a fair bit yesterday starting with the turret system and I also did a XQ platform that I am thinking of using as a mining station.

Anyway here are some of the turrets, I am thinking if making unique ones for each faction.

For the Imp side, have you considered using Golan Defense Platforms? They didn't really feature in EaW/FoC, but they were in the books a fair bit. Played a crucial role in the defense of Coruscant and other planets, usually could go toe-to-toe with some of the heavier ships.

Also glad to see the good ol' missile turrets, I always favor those when I play over the laser turrets, makes a more effective defense against fighters and the lighter analogues that bug me.
