"The final annihilation of the lifeform known as man... Let the attack begin"

I decided to give the Cylons some love. First 3 Raiders have been completed:

Raider Mk1

Raider Mk2

Heavy Raider

Well it's been almost a year since I did any sort of modeling or texture work. So wanting to try and get back into it, got some people to help in the future, I decided to finish the Cylon Interceptor Raider. It's my own take on the design from that Xbox BSG game we got back in 2003ish.

Essentially the Cylon version of the Scarlet Viper the Colonials have that I made a model of sometime ago.

Hello:
It is great to see you coming back into the 3d-modelling scene! The Interceptor looks very nice! The elongated wings kinds of give it some vibes of the Reimagined Raider :) .

I think I have that same game for the PS2, it was excellent! It's too bad that old school games like that don't transition well to modern TVs, despite the HDMI cable.

Great job with the Raider, I love 70s Galactica to no end and this design brings back all the good memories from that era.

Yeah it does a little. I never realised. Haha.
My idea is to try and modernise the TOS designs a bit and give them more unique units.

Yeah I love the &0's feel of Galactica so much more than the remake. The remake had some cool designs like the Pegasus though. Wasn't a fan of the Cylon designs, the originals just had that feel that they remake never matched.

It was a great game a bit difficult but still a lot of fun.

Totally looking forward to seeing some more designs, whether from the game or other inspirations.

I liked the remake well enough, but I did not connect as heavily given the focus of the remake on the hybrids and drifting away from the pilot's being front and center. Definitely agree that the designs were great in the remake and production was top notch. That said, nothing quite like the original 70s cheesefest with Boxey, Lucifer and Imperious Leader, man I miss Cylons just being actual Cylons.

If you are planning on making any additional BSG ships, cannot wait to see them. Love the old school Raiders.

That's my aim, Cylons being machines not hybrids. I wasn't a huge fan of the hybrids, as they took the focus away from the machines too much.

I do plan eventually to do more units. I have a couple of deadlock designs for the Colonials already modelled and just need texturing. Still trying to make a few more TOS like though haha.

Hello:
I think it looks very good that way and one thing you did that I should emulate is the hull colout, because it is not white and it is a pain to my eyes to work with white textures.

Yup not a fan of white textures.

Thanks mate. It's actually the version from TOS. I have thought about doing the game's light tanker just not sure yet.

Well these have been just a treat Maj. I can't tell you how happy I am to see some old school BSG designs whenever any of you guys bring in a new one.

I know you also briefly mentioned some of the designs from BSG: The Return, so if you ever do any of those models I very much look forward to seeing them.

Thanks mate. I think you mean Deadlock not BSG: The Return, there are certainly some BSG Deadlock both Cylon and Colonial inspired designs coming. I have a few of the Colonial models already modeled however I am wanting to focus on the Cylons first as they usually have fewer designs overall in fandom to the Colonials.

Hopeful in a couple of days I should have the Cylon Tender done. Got a freighter done already that I haven't showed yet.

The Cylon Freighter I mentioned in my previous post. A variant of the Cylon Tanker, she is also a little shorter than the tanker. The Tanker will most likely be used as a construction ship. Fits the role pretty good imo.

Yeah, you mentioned the Deadlock designs, which I am more than looking forward to seeing, but I also thought that you had mentioned some threads back designs from Richard Hatch's never realized planned follow up to the original series, BSG: The Return.

If you didn't, my mistake, I thought I read you mentioned looking into something from them. In any case, whatever designs you do create, I am very excited to see more BSG TOS influenced designs. Deadlock is a great source also, I have it on PS4 and love the designs.

That's where the scarlet viper originated from probably why I mentioned it.

Hello:
I like the freighter a lot! I remember the design because my TOS Cylon Freighter looks very similar to it! So likely came from the same source?

For TRS Cylons you should do as I did and use the designs from "BSG:Online" Thanks to that one we can have a complete Cylon faction.

It's from the 2003 game but I used the TOS Tanker head and engines. A lot of my own feel went into this as well.

I don't plan on doing any TNS Cylons, not a fan of them personally. I am basing this mainly on TOS, with Deadlock inspiration and also a bit of my own feel. Think of it as a modernization of TOS BSG with my own flare adding in just because it's me lol.

Yeah, the 2003 game was it! But it is very cool you just used it as inspiration and made your own ship from it  .

Fair enough :plan:

Taking a break from Star Trek I had the urge to do some more BSG models. Here is the Deadlock reimagined for the TOS Cylon Hydra, essentially a support ship.

Gorgeous Maj, I'm playing through Deadlock right now and love their selection of ships (And the game) a ton. Excellent adaptation!

I have not gotten Deadlock yet. Is there a best platform to get it on?

Thanks mate, planning on a few more Deadlock ships, got a few Colonial ones modelled ages ago but I haven't textured them. I also have some Cylon ones I want to do, Cylons need all the help they can get haha.

PC/Steam is where I got it. Certainly the best place to play it. It's turned base strategy just so you know as that's not everyone's cup of tea.

Hello:
Amazing with with the Hydra! I specially like the head section so they matches your other ships... unless I am mistaken?

The central hull is gorgeous, what is it's poly-count?

I'm sure most folks play Deadlock on the PC, my PC hasn't been able to run anything past Mass Effect 2 in 2010, so I have it on the PS4 and I love it.

I despise the Hydra, it cools down Cylon munitions, making their reloading and firing again faster, I always have my squadrons swarm them since they tend to stay behind the fleet.

Awesome to know you got more, I have to admit that I think that Deadlock has my favorite designs of non-TOS BSG, love the variety of ships and that they have specialized roles.

You're not mistaken. It was intentional to do it like that. :)

It's about 6k, 5910 to be exact.

Yeah they did quite well with their designs. Certainly prefer it to TNS BSG designs which just didn't give the right feel nor did the series. I did love the Pegasus and Valkyrie but the Cylon designs were meh to me. That's why I am trying to do TOS styled designs.

Yeah, my computer isn't the hottest in terms of processing power. She's good, but she's getting up there. Struggles with some of the latest Empire at War mods. Therefore I was debating between the Xbox One or Switch versions. Xbox will certainly do better on the graphics front.

Probably best to go xbox then. You will probably enjoy it as it is fun to play.
