You're not mistaken. It was intentional to do it like that. :)

It's about 6k, 5910 to be exact.

Very cool! Specially since I've got it right :lol2:

Well, I can imagine the game can handlethosecounts nowadays, hehehe, and I am here worrying about a destroyer reaching 3k :p .

Yeah they did quite well with their designs. Certainly prefer it to TNS BSG designs which just didn't give the right feel nor did the series. I did love the Pegasus and Valkyrie but the Cylon designs were meh to me. That's why I am trying to do TOS styled designs.

100% agreed, I especially like that both the Colonials and Cylons have specialized ships that do specific roles and even dedicated Carriers. Don't get me wrong, I love the design of the new Galactica herself (Jupiters), especially the Mk. 2 version with higher forward firepower. But the sheer variety of designs what they do in the fleet is such a treat.

I have the Mercury and Valkyrie in the skirmish mode but I'm just going through the campaigns right now so I can't use them. I like them but I kind of prefer having less all purpose ships. Besides, I am using the baby-Mercury, the Minerva Battlestar which is a beast in firepower but frail in armor.

Well I build my models these days more for Sins, though still on the lower side of what that game can handle. More for performance reasons than anything.

Yeah I like speciality ships, I think alot about that when I build a ship model, a certain role in mind. A2 was horrendous for all multi-purpose ships to a point that most of the ships really had no point in being built unless you liked the design.

I think last time I played Deadlock I had only just unlocked the Minerva I knew I had the Artemis and had quite a few of them through the various fleets, I think I had a fleet over each Colony plus one with the station for doing the campaign and each fleet had at least 1 Artemis.

I can understand that, really, performance is always a compass for us low-poly modellers  . But I admit I have mostly let myself go about making starship allowing myself more polies than I did before, but going overboard! One example is my Klingon BoP, that even has external nacelles and cannons yet has less polies than FleetOps' BoP .

Yeah over the past few years I have increased my poly count as well. Got to stay within the times lol.

Ohh, whoops! Small mistake, I meant to say "...but not going overboard"

That is one of the biggest issues I had with A2, all of the ships feel so same-y that the only real strategy is to race to unlock the most powerful version, see Battleships, and then spam those before the AI does.

My fleets have right now at least one Battlestar, mostly Artemis classes, but if you know how to use the Minerva then you put some serious output of damage. Can't wait for the Jupiters. But Gunships with their raw turret power and Cruisers armed with missile/torpedoes cause devastation on Cylon fleets.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Yeah I love the Bezerk for it's guns and the Rangers for their missiles. A couple of them with an Artemis and that's the majority of my fleets.

I'm thinking I might do a Colonial design next not overly sure. I do have a few modelled and a couple in the works of being modelled. I just need to work out a design lineage for the Colonials as I few of the existing models will probably need adjustments. Plus a texture feel for them. SO much to think about when you're making a modernization to them but wanting to keep them feeling TOS like.

Hello:
If you want Colonial designs that were not part of Deadlock, then you can always use the diagrams of the models made by Steve Wilson on Starships Schematics Database. I am going to make my take on several of those designs for my TOS Colonials, so likely you may choose some and adjust them. Otherwise you can try "Blood and Chrome" designs like the Loki or the Osiris  .

That is a great composition. I now have two types of fleets in the game: A "Carrier" Task Force and a Hunter-Killer Fleet. My Task Forces have between 1-2 Battlestars, usually an Artemis or a Minerva or both together, 1 Atlas Carrier, 1 Minotaur Gunship, 1 Janus Heavy Cruiser, 1 Ranger Missile Cruiser and 2 Manticore Corvetts.

My Hunter-Killer Fleets play with the above but remove the Carrier, replacing it with additional Cruisers or Adamant Frigates that operate in groups of 3 stacked like a column for maximum broadside appeal.

I think Deadlocked did a very admirable job of making TOS-like designs mesh with TRS upgrades, the Artemis in particular looks like a great blend of TOS and TRS.

Oh and Chile, the Osiris from Blood and Chrome is in Deadlock, it's the Orion Frigate (Sometimes called Battleship/Battlestar, it's no Battleship/Battlestar though). And there is a ship that looks a lot like the Loki, the Defender Support Ship, though there are some differences.

I've got designs in mind, some modelled I just want a consistent look throughout my modernized TOS fleet. I think I'll model some of the major designs first then adjust what I have afterwards. I've already got an Artemis, Ranger and Adamant from Deadlock modelled or close to 100% modelled but I want to change their engines sections a little.

I have to agree, they did an amazing job and what gave me inspiration to do some TOS styled Cylon and Colonial designs.

I knew it! I knew they would include the Osiris! So Orion class? Nice to know that, but Orion was a warrior and not a stealthy guy, but I guess Colonials had their reasons  .

Besides the Loki, there were a couple of other designs, I guess they were not included for been to strange I guess.

There are some ships here -> https://bookman.artstation.com/projects/4yr5W

Keep it up! :salute:

I recently went back and re-did my renders for my BSG Cylon ships for Artstation and DeviantArt.

Ship-Cylon-Raider1.png Ship-Cylon-Raider2.png Ship-Cylon-HeavyRaider.png Ship-Cylon-Interceptor.png

Ship-Cylon-Tanker.png Ship-Cylon-Freighter.png Ship-Cylon-Hydra.png

I also found a incomplete Cylon Tender I was making a while back and decided to finish the modelling and do the texturing on it. So that was my last two days work and now it's complete.

Hello:
I love them!
Many Raiders there and, specially the Interceptor, caught my eye... maybe because is a bit like the Reimagined Raider with the shape of the wings.

The support ships are great! With those you are almost done for a playable faction  .

Thanks mate, it was probably the hardest of the Raiders to do. The wings are quite complicated and took a great deal of time to do.

Yeah I don't really have any combat ships apart from the Tender and Hydra, but they are a Tender and Carrier so really aren't the most combat oriented designs either. More support vessels within the fleet. I may do more down the line, just like I plan to do more B5 ships and Star Wars ships.

That is a common in many franchises, sadly. But having those anonimous heroes of the fleet is always awesome!

I remember the game "BSG Online" gave us non-combat support vessels for the reimagined Cylons, from their designs I created a construction ship so the set was complete: Construction, minins freighter, mobile refinery and cargo ship.

In Sins you only need the constructor and trade ship, oh and a colony ship and starbase constructor. Many people often use a constructor ship or variant for the starbase constructor. I haven't gone that far with the Cylons here. I don't really have any intention on making a mod, more selling the models and hoping to make a little extra money to help with the cost of living. Right now is finding the right site to sell on.

Hello:
Oh yeah! I have seen how Sins makes the starbase constructor to dissappear when the starbase is done. I always had mixed feelings with that, hehehe.

Good luck!

I think that is the idea. And it's like how you cannot reuse Colony ships in A2.

Yup exact same idea. Colony ships in many Sins mods are one time use too, that's my I like having 1 colony capital ship in each fleet for this purpose.

In the mods I've seen, the capital colonizers can be used multiple times, but Iam not sure about smaller colonizing ships though.

Yeah depends now the player sets it up, capitals don't disappear. Small colony ships all depends on the mods, but usually they disappear after use.
I love me some TOS BSG good stuff
Yeah I actually prefer TOS, even though TNS has some great designs.

That is interesting, and always nice to see there are alternatives.
That makes me think I don't have colony ships for my Stargate fleets.... whoops!

You could do a kitbash of sorts of some of your other non combats. That said if you're going Sins you don't need a mining freighter as they use asteroid mines so you can repurpose that as a colony ship instead.

I think Ido have a colony ship design for the Ori though

Yeah you only need a constructor, cargo ship, envoy (which can be a re-textured variant of a combat ship), a starbase constructor (which can either be a kitbash or reuse of the constructor) and a colony ship.

The rest are combat ships and stations.
