Interesting in the fact that it isn't what one would expect from a Star Trek Federation ship. It reminds me a little of the Attack ship from Id4. It has has a similar feel to the Sabre which I rather like.

It's a great design mate, kudos for making an escort that isn't another Defiant predecessor but something that is new and original.

Thanks

I was trying to get away from another Defiant rehash. Don't get me wrong I love the Defiant class but there are a thousand and one rehashes of her out there" just look at "STO  ".

Well you have tea time Kjc and well I do this instead :lol2: in the hopes of engaging a certain number of ship wrights minds on this site

Time for some feedback. :D

I quoted the parts that I wanted to address.

Locations of Fer de lance-Class Construction:

Utopia Planitia Fleet Yard, Mars
New Aberdeen Fleet Yard, Aldebarran
Utopia Planitia Fleet Yard, Mars
Copernicus Fleet Yard, Luna
San Francisco Fleet Yard, Earth

Just a typo here as you listed Utopia Planitia twice. Perhaps add Alpha Centauri and/or Andor as an additional location for production. Considering how small these ships are, I'd think many yards across the Federation would build these puppies. :)

Officers and Crew: 40 Officers and Crew
Evacuation Limit: 165

If memory serves the Defiant has 50 personnel and she was 120 meters, though there is some dispute in that size, some saying it was more like 180 meters. Either way I find the crew size works quite well. However I feel the evacuation limit is a tad high. With this, the total people onboard at max limit would be 205. I can't see how this would work, unless the shuttle bay is cleared and you store the refugees or whomever is being transported in there. Which brings me to my next point.

DIMENSIONS

Overall Length: 129.5 meters
Overall Draft: 125.2 meters
Overall Beam: 28.0 meters

TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT

Shuttlecraft:

1 Type-9 Light Medium-Range Shuttlecraft

2 Type-16 Shuttlepods

2 Workbee-Type Maintenance Pods

I see no issue with the dimensions, those are just quoted for reference.

I find the auxiliary craft compliment to be a little large for a ship so small. The Defiant had only only shuttle craft as we see it leave the bay in late season 6 and to be honest there was really no further room for addition craft. I know in "The Search" both Sisko/Bashir and Odo/Kira used shuttles. But I put that down to the fact that Sisko/Bashir were in that Vorta mind game while Odo and Kira actually did take the shuttle.

I would suggest that there only be one, maybe two maximum. I would go with the shuttlepods and dump the rest. Reason I suggest this is that in the image I see the shuttle bay and it does look larger then the one on the Defiant and so doubling the compliment of embarked craft would work for this design. Though having it any larger and then you'll have to consider a reduction in crew or weaponry as there needs to be room for all that, even small bunk rooms take up space.

Thanks for pointing out that typo my friend

I was thinking first Production order yards when Started listing yep I could see Starfleet fielding alot o them as well

the Defiant has 40
Officers and Crew and a max
evacuation Limit of 150 acording to the Star Trek Deep Space Nine Technical Manual LOL
I broke out and dusted of my old copy of it off the book shelf then I stared to set the stats of this ship for a base line
See SPOILER

Seems like you did your research, I'm surprised that the Defiant would have that much room for that many auxiliary craft, but the tech manuals are considered canon if I recall.

As for armaments I think she is fine, she has to have a different weapon loadout otherwise why build her at all, instead of building just Defiants.

It reminds me a little of the Attack ship from Id4.
I read that as 1d4. Clearly I've been playing too much NWN.

The Defiant was whatever size looked best for the shot. At times it was little bigger than a runabout, at others it was almost as big as an Intrepid.

Anyway, stats look pretty good to me. Good job.

HellKite, It's good to see those creative juices of yours are still flowing. You have so much talent to be sure. Since upgrading to Windows 7, I haven't even attempted to model anything and not even sure I could get the old version of Max to even cooperate. I still swing by from time to time and always take a peak at your work. :)

Been play STO and unfortunately, it has become way to addicting. lol

I want to first ask which you'd be in the mood for. As of currently, I have:
- 1 Federation (TOS) Station Concept
- 2 Federation (Post-TNG) Runabout Concepts
- 1 Federation (Post-TNG) Starship
- 1 Klingon (TOS) Station Concept
- 2 Romulan (TMP/TLE) Station Concepts

Well, one federation Runabout concept I have uses a hull based off of the Manta Ray. The mouth would be a large deflector. The Cephalic Horns in front of it near the mouth would house Phaser Cannons. The gills would be Dauntless Style Intercoolers. There would be phaser arrays along the wing-like 'fins'. And on the dorsal fin near the tail, there would be a small torpedo pod that holds one front facing torpedo launcher and one rear facing torpedo launcher.

Looks great my friend better than a bought one. It actually has nacelles similar to my Dawnstar redesign that I and Jetfreak did a number of years back. Would make a good companion to the class.

Ananke Class time ship -temporal warship

USS Ananke
NCV-575499

Ship motto " What must be, must be"

Named for Ananke

In Greek mythology, Ananke (Ancient Greek: Ἀνάγκη, from the common noun ἀνάγκη, "force, constraint, necessity"), was the personification of destiny, necessity and fate, depicted as holding a spindle. She marks the beginning of the cosmos, along with Chronos. She was seen as the most powerful dictator of all fate and circumstance which meant that mortals, as well as the Gods, respected her and paid homage. Considered as the mother of the Fates according myth , she is the only one to have control over their decisions

Hello:
I did mention in DeviantArt that I love the Ananke class. That ship is awesome, like Star Trek with some extra feel like inspiration from a Whitestar perhaps, the design works perfectly :worship: .

The latest pic, the comparison one is great, because it helps get the feel of the size of your ships. I like that a lot.

I really like your design HK, though putting Slipstream on a bomber to me doesn't feel feasible and a little overkill. I also feel the warp velocities are a little high for a bomber. I personally would dump the slipstream and have a max warp of like 8 or 8.5 assuming this is a late 24, or 25th century design.

But I disagree my friend my reasoning is , she not a support craft and can not be carrier based do to her size but a stand a lone unit based planet side at a colony Airbase or at a Starbase. I feel she needs it in the 25th century war escapes a long range tactical prosperous built bomber would be ineffective

think of her as a small ship my friend
