Rumour has it that there are two ship packs in the works. The first (surprisingly) being battlecruisers, i.e. Avenger/Mogh/Mogai. The second being raiders, i.e. Defiant, B'Rel, T'Varo. An unusual set of combinations.

For some reason I've always been fond of the Year of Hell ships. I fondly remember Dan porting some cool BC models of them! Anyway, these STO versions seem to stick pretty close to the originals. Thumbs up from me.

Yeah just a shame one of them (my favourite) is a T5 version they should all be T6 now I reckon.

There are two new additions coming soon for the fleets of Star Trek Online. The first addition is a new fleet holding. Currently call simply Delta Fleet Holding, your fleet will be working with the Krenim survivors in building Annorax's ship (from ST: VOY Year Of Hell).
The second addition is the Fleet Armada System. This allows a large fleets (Alpha Fleet) to invite up to three smaller fleets (Beta Fleets) to join in their armada. Then those three Beta fleets can then invite up to three more fleets (Gamma Fleets) to join. Alpha fleets can only invite or kick Beta fleets and Beta fleets can only invite or kick Gamma Fleets. If a Beta fleet leaves an Armada, they take their Gamma fleets with them. The Beta fleet that left then becomes the Alpha Fleet of a new Armada. All fleets retain their autonomy. This will allow larger fleets to share resources with smaller fleets. You can read all about it in the dev blogs on the STO site.

I bought the Resolute class yesterday. I do not like the saucer or nacelles. The hull is ok but too skinny though. I do like the neck and pylons. I went with the Excelsior Refit hull and nacelles (with the alpha glows), Resolute neck and pylons, and for completion sake, Excelsior saucer.

Darnit. I'd decided not to bother (because I already have a Fleet Excelsior so couldn't justify the cost, particularly when the Resolute is oh so ugly like so many of the cryptic designs), but that looks sweet.

The escorts are getting a T6 - I've seen a picture of the Valiant class somewhere. I may get it, and just Defiant skin it. but then again, i have the fleet version so.... not sure i can justify.

And that is the whole problem with the T6, by stating that they wouldn't release T6 versions of the T5 people went and did Fleet T5U, T6 doesn't give you all that much beyond that and I wonder how many sales Cryptic have lost out on because of it. The T6 Defiant would have to be very, very special for me to consider shelling out for. I may be tempted by a T6 Vesta, but again, I have T5U and if the last few ships are anything to go by, the T6 Vesta will be well beaten with the ugly stick.

hopefully a lot, because its bad business on their part. i feel a little like i've been burnt by it certainly. from what i gather, there's also a T6 Dreadnought cruiser coming.... also kinda makes the galaxy pack i bought before a bit worthless now they've done the T6 Gal and the upcoming Dread.

I have no problems them making a buck, but to me STO has always been way over priced for virtual items. That's why I stopped opening my wallet to them, and use dilithium grind or just LTS stipend to buy items now.

Agreed. This is exactly how I bought the Resolute.

With the release of the new T6 Escort Carriers, they are also releasing a new Akira model. This is an update to the existing model and is free to any ship that has access to the Akira parts. The new model looks great.

Very nice, I always did like the Akira. Not being a Fed player I obviously won't be getting it. I just wished they had more character management, as I think if that was the case I would play my Fed character more. But with the grind and the characters that have more work done to them I don't see the point in doing so.

Give us the ability to merge characters (so we can retain rep, LB ships etc from them) and I would play all 3 factions again. But right now it's too much work. A shame as if they brought out a T6 Defiant I would get it if there was better character management.
