Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Yes there will be buildings on all 3 levels. The top two will be the most dense but the bottom will have some other equipment taking up the space as well as buildings spread between.Wow, that's some really amazing work, it's shaping up great. Are you planning on having building on the bottom tier/level?
The modeling will be done for sure for the contest (ends september 5th) But the texturing may happen after. Needless to say there will be some kind of nice scene made up that I will post here. That will look really great when done. I hope you get around to doing some renders of the city. Will make great desktop wallpapers.
This will be by far the largest scale model I have ever done.I really gotta say that's probably the sexiest **** thing I've ever seen.
*phew* In theory I could render it then lol. This will be by far the largest scale model I have ever done.
Right now she is at about 14.2 million polygons, takes 8GB of ram just to load and uses just under 700mb of HD space for all the files.
Note, that is just to load the scene. You still have to hit the render button which adds another 2GB of ram usage.*phew* In theory I could render it then lol.
Ahhh ouch then, might take me a bit longer then.Note, that is just to load the scene. You still have to hit the render button which adds another 2GB of ram usage.
And since I got the ok here is a link to my finished city image.

If you mean the city, it was for a contest which ran for a month. Total time would be around 8-10 days at about 6-8 hours each. If you mean my new ships then that would be about 1-1 1/2 hours of work. How log did that take? :Y
