1. Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

This makes me happy as I have grown fond of science in this game.

Is there an event ship or item that you really want but missed out on? Now you have a chance to get one. Starting tomorrow, December 1, you can buy the Phoenix Prize Pack. Open one and you are awarded at prize token of a quality ranging from uncommon to epic. They can then be redeemed for one of the items of equal quality. Opened a rare quality token but don't want any of the rare items? That's ok, trade it in for 2 uncommon tokens. You can also trade in 10 uncommon tokens for another prize pack to give you another chance at a rarer item. How much zen is this going to cost? Glad you asked. The answer is NONE!. You buy the packs for 4,500 dilithium or 10 packs for 40,000.

See the article here with the list of prizes.

The 2016 winter event is now live. There is a new event: Klingon Ice Fishing. I have not tried it yet but I will. The ship prize is the Breen Chel Boalg Warship [T6].

Because it's yet another space dinosaur for us to shoot at. I was hoping for something a little more creative.

Agreed. New content is good, but it'll be more heavily armoured enemies to shoot at. I was hoping for the more devious version from the new books.

While I agree that the books description of the Tzenkethi is intriguing, They are not the ones who created the species. The writer who came up with Tzenkethi for DS9 said in an interview that he envisioned heavily armored lizard things. The STO version matches this. Also keep in mind that the books interpretation belongs to that writer, not CBS. Cryptic can't use it without a lot of legal red tape.

Personally not everything in the books are better. I hated what they did with the Borg in the Destiny series. The back story was fine for me but, seriously, assimilating ships by absorbing them? I am also of the personal opinion that the Typon Pact series completely ruined the Breen.

I got one and have claimed it. It is a nice looking ship. Except the nacelles....they are hideous. I used the Imperial nacelles on mine.

Also, I have already owned the formal wear for several years now so today's give away is useless to me. lol

I'm a little surprised that they don't give away more bridges, seeing as they think there's no money in bridge sets (cynic - moi?).

    Also no email.

Granted, I haven't played in a while, but I don't even remember what my bridge looks like. There's just not much reason to go there.

    Day 4:
Note that it's per account and not per character, so chose wisely.

***EDIT*** They got it wrong! There are two spec points per character and two tech upgrades per account.

Be warned the featured episode is very graphics heavy. The waterfall kicks off a lot of particles which made it practically unplayable on my PC. I had to leave the bulk of my ground fighting to my away team (which actually worked out surprisingly well).
