Anyone play Attack Wing?
My sister and her fiance bought me the starter set last Christmas and I finally played it for the first time (against them) last weekend.
First game, three way match:
Me with the Ent-D commanded by Riker
The sister with some Klingon Vor'Cha
The fiance with the Ent-E commanded by Picard
For my first game I did quite well. The E-D handles like a bathtub filled with water, but I managed to manoeuvre so that when the E-E did a fly past and blasted me I dropped a minefield on top of him. He was then left as the only ship in range of the VorCha - and my sister took full advantage (after spending the game until then honorably skulking around under cloak at the opposite side of the map).
The E-E then bravely ran away off the side of the map, leaving the Vor'Cha to chase me around the mine field. Fortunately they didn't predict a turn and ended up in my rear firing arc without me being in theirs - so I blasted them and won
Second game was just me with a D'Deridex and the fiance with the Voyager. I think Voyager must have been a favourite of the game maker as it can out turn pretty much anything, is stupidly tough and has good firepower. Plus the crew has some insane skills. I started off with a really bad roll and missed horribly, and from then on I couldn't get it back in my firing arc. I was one move away from pulling a turn to get a head on pass but *boom* game over.
Anyway, I decided if they were going to pull tricks like that I should at least try and even the odds and I've just bought an Enterprise Refit (not the A) which has some nice crew skills and I'm waiting for an Excelsior to turn up in the next few days too...
If there's any interest I'll try to explain a bit more about the game, it's surprisingly in depth but still quite quick to play through. Of course, I've only done small single ship games so far.
