• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Is it bad that I looked at this image and the first thing that jumps into my mind is:

"Why is the Centauri Republic fighting the Doomsday Machine?"
That did cross my mind also.

But making a smashed planet with an exposed core is not an easy task. Had to be a bit creative with that one. Lol

Loving your Centauri work. Really impressive. Makes me want to see a sequel B5 series just that much more. :)

Hey, RJB have you considered applying post-work effects in your scenes? It's a little trendy thing I've noticed some 3d artists do these days. Things like excess motion blur, exaggerated depth of field, forced stereoscopics and the "dirty lens" filter seem to be all the rage now.

Personally, I try to be subtle about it (or just plain avoid them all). Because its so easy to go overboard with it. I guess it all boils down to personal preference.

In the past I've used a lot of them and since its been a long time since I did my 3d modeling there has been a lot of relearning to do.

With each new scene lately I have been working in more and more effects work.

I have some battle scenes I want to do which will most likey used motion blurring and depth of field.

Also like your I try to keep things a bit more minimal as to not over do things.

Love your renders RJB, they look like scenes straight out of the movies or renders from an art book. If only we could have a few games that looked like that.

Just beautiful.

Now that the Phoenix is done I thought I'd start on a F-302 replacement to go with her.

Thank you.

Some thanks goes back to Jetfreak. He gave me some good input to improve my atmospheric scenes.

It's a very nice composition, and it's great model work. But the aero engineer dies a little every time I see a Stargate fighter in atmosphere.
