• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Awesome RJB, are the apartments going to be someway connected to the hangar? Also is there going to be some sort of Puddle Jumper bay?

I have yet to decide how it will all be linked and yes there will be a runway with a group of small ship hangers.

My hanger has now been added to the download area under 3d meshes. So to say it is only the lightwave file (lwo).

Glad you like it maj. Once I'm done this area it will be added to download too. I think I may separate the living area base and builds so they can be viewed each when I'm done.

I had to do a double take on it but all 3 buildings together still come in at under 40,000 polygons.

Under 40,000? Boy that's really well done, I was expecting at least 60k for the three of them.

It either really shows you know how to save on the pollies or that I am just too used to low poly or maybe both. :lol:

I think it's part the program I use and the style of modeling I do. I keep things very clean.

A fellow modeler I know who did a model of SG:U Destiny's Shuttle had a final poly count of over 600,000 and I'm sure I could do the same ship for about 120,000-160,000. Nothing was wrong with the model but he did his in blender if I remember and had a different way of modeling than myself.

Sweet, I like the jumper bays on the 2nd building from the left. I assume they are puddle jumper bays.

Ah I see what you are looking at. That is just an architectural component. I should add a jumper to the scene for scale. The largest building is 20 floors with a 21st which would be mechanical.

Wow looking good their -RJB- as always I am in awe over your modeling skills lol. I just loaded blender on my new laptop so I have that to play around with later. Nice to see you trying something new (I mean that your modeling buildings instead of ships lol, or thats what I get from the looks of your two previous pics).

Thanks La Patience. The hanger is up in the download area if you want to take a look. I believe you use Lightwave also.

Got my building layout done and have started on the base for the buildings. The scene is rendering now. (A bit over 500,000 polys now.)
