Your version reminds me of the Fek'Lhr class mixed with some influence from the Starfleet Museum. Very nice. I can't wait to see it textured.

That actually looks like a ship from the Star Trek universe, unlike the aberration it is based on. Fantastic job Rel!

Awesome work mate, a lot better than the ugly canon design it's based off. Vast improvement. :)

Im very glad it has shown some positive results guys! Btw, umm I have to confess this.
I....like the Disco BOP. Not so much how it appears but the concept of the ship has me thinking "If the DIsco bird of prey was less like Giger's works and more like a Klingon ship, perhaps the shape of it can make sense, both as a warship of a frigate subtype, but also as a possible RAMMING SHIP WITH WING LIKE BLADES!" In looking at the model first hand (Adversaries game), I noticed the wingspan on it is very deep, and very long in a blade like fashion with no weapons on them and a feathered sawblade appearance. It has come to the thought that if these ships had potential to ram enemy hulls and weak shielding and use it's wings as a weapon without so much as damaging the main hulls themselves (life support included)

Yes the STD BOP just doesn't have enough classic Klingon features to work. TBH as it appears it feels more Romulan which is kinda funny as the B'rel was originally going to be a Romulan ship is ST3.

What Discovery missed with the Klingon look is that everything Klingon has had a very rugged look since TOS. Very form-following-function to the extent that there's even some exposed machinery. Even the bat'leth is little more than a sharpened slab of metal. It doesn't seem to have been a budget issue, either, considering the Federation and Romulan props they sat alongside, so it was probably a deliberate stylistic choice. The Discovery stuff, on the other hand, is extremely ornate to the point the infantry weapons, both melee and ranged, would be virtually unusable in real-life.

Flow's version of the Sarcophagus Ship brings back that signature Klingon ruggedness while maintaining the shape. It's a great look, and really demonstrates how good DSC's Klingon ships could look with some work. I'd love to see more DSC Klingon ships done this way.

Hello:
I am actually very agree with Cabal's comment. Several of Discovery's designs have lots of potential that need to be explored and exploited by capable hands. And you are doing a very good job!

Also good thing we have FleetOps to handle the polies :D .

Speaking of finished works, I have made a nice little render of EVERY SINGLE COMPLETED SHIP/STATION I've ever made this year.
Ur-Quan Dreadnought with Fighter, H-4 Praetor shuttle (Tiny shuttle near the Connie), Texas Class OCL, Ares Class Tactical Destroyer, Constitution Class (Ver. DSC-Cage), Gorn SS3, Klingon L-13 Fatman, Orion Trading station, Orion Fighter, Orion Spud Orbital turret, Orion Asteroid defense tower, and yes. A FREAKING CROSSFIELD CLASS! (Brand new btw. 3 weeks to make her and yes TORPEDO BAYS ARE INCLUDED).
Can someone say "Oscar Worthy"?

Sometimes when you discover something new, it's ugly to see. All it takes a bit of elbow grease to make a "Re-Discovery" happen.
Behold my latest completed starships!
On the top: The Klingon KQ-1 QugH Class heavy destroyer. 1360 meters of Klingon ass whooping!
(and yes she has photon torpedo launchers, an idea courtesy of WileyCoyote).

Crossfield Class U.S.S. Discovery. This ship merges the teaser version with the original design. The nacelles are SLIGHTLY shorter, but still elongated but sleeked out. She also has minor TOS markings, and actual Photon torpedo launchers on her neck (2) and underneath the main body(4 front and 2 rear). Hull font was preserved for the sake of fandom.

Crossfield Refit Class U.S.S. Stamets.
This ship is a personal redesign of the Crossfield class for a possible refit. This version is the best of both worlds, using the Teaser Discovery and a concept art by John Eaves for an epic merger. This ship carries a DSC-TOS Grey coloration, TOS Font, Spore drive removed in favor of an Experimental Warp drive that would soon be perfected and refitted on to the would be "Phase-II" Refit plans for the TMP Era, and the Saucer grill was added for kicks.

That Klingon ship I would use as a Hurq ship personally. Great job modeling and texturing her.

I also prefer your refit DISC over the stock one.

well, I made another one :D.
Yes it's the BOP from Discovery. With some help from WIley I managed to give this some life. Needs a better metal texture for the hull though...

That is a very nice take on the Klingon Disco-BoP... huge wings are the best wings (or that is only for fantasy characters?) :D .

Metallic textures are hard to ake I think, at least for me, but not near as hard as to make other textures like more ceramic-like as we can see in Andromeda Ascendant of the Orville.

Very nice Rel, the ship looks much better than its series counterpart. Course I think that BoP style looks more Romulan than Klingon...and bearing in mind that the original BoP for ST3 was meant to be a Romulan ship, I guess I'm saying you nailed it. Lol.

Are these STD models going to be high poly beauty models or A2 friendly? If you plan to release them I mean.

Well, the Crossfields and Discoprise are abit up on Poly, like WileyCoyote poly but slightly higher, so you might have to do a bit of editting for them to be lower poly. The rest of the ships will be A-ok.

Ik Double post, but it's worth it. I think I'm nailing the Klingon Hull style (and wing style).

Hello:
It really seems you are making quite a new style for the Klingon ships, that is great indeed because I am now wondering how will your D7 would look like :) .

Trust me Chile that ship WAY above's no D-7. It's a Colony ship. It's the Ship of the Dead.

Thanks for the clarification Rel, I can imagine them Crossfields are poly-huggers...always trying to catch all the attention, just like on the show. Ha. I half love and half hate the ship but I would put it ingame as some sort of Science ship (Spore Drive special?). On the show's Fed ships, I much more prefer the Walker Class (USS Shenzhou).

I can't quite lower the polys myself, my modeling skills are shall we say...challenged? Diminished? Non-existent? Take your pick, lol. But any others that are released A2 ready, I'm more than happy to give them a permanent home in my virtual fleets.

Terrific job with the BoP, you are putting the original (STD one) to shame now. Just wow.

And I agree with Chile, what interesting spin will you come up with for the D-7? PS. If you are looking for general D-7 inspirations, the Kelvin era "D-7 Warbird" looks really good. And that's not the fanboy of the new movies in me talking (That much), lol.

Hello:
That's very nice to see it in full 3d glory :D . Also, I want to make a bit of a joke about how that ship is...ehh.... "fluffy" in comparison to the Prime-verse version :D .
