It's a 1984 Nissan Patrol. I have 2 winches however I don't have them on the vehicle yet. I need to build a custom bullbar. Was going to do it this year but had a bit of a mental breakdown and withdrew from everything.

If your going to build custom bumpers you may want to consider adding a receiver hicth to both front and back bumpers. A friend did this and then add a receiver hitch to his wench. This way he only needs one wench and can use it on the front or back. He also add quick connect power leds front and back so it only takes like one minute to install or move wench. Bonus you can put your wench inside your rig when not in use so it stays out of the weather.

Well I've got two winches, a 20,000LBS I got for free and rebuilt. And a 9,000LBS that I am going to service and only paid $70 for and both are warn brand so I am happy. Plan one for the front and one for the back. Turn her into a full recovery vehicle.

Thats cool I always wanted a second winch for my jeep. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there. Thought it was pertty slick myself, but if you got two winchs more power to ya!

I did add an extra 100 feet of cable so i can reach 200 feet out. That would have gotten me out of one mud hole i got myself stuck in 6 months ealier (live and learn). I also added a snatch block (or a winch multiplier). I have not needed the extra pulling force (yet) but I've used it to pull out a buddys rig out from around a corner. There wasn't room for my jeep to pull him out straight, so i put the snatch block on a tree, it formed a L with my cable and out he came. You can actually turn yourself around 180 degrees if need be so with only one wench I thought it was a must have.

Also tire chains! All the way around!! I've pushed snow over the hood and all the way to windshield this way. If the jeep was heavier I think i would have made it all 300 yards in one go. As it was I keep floating on the snow and got high centered a few times. Have i mentioned a couple good shovels. I doubt you have to worry about snow but I've used them to get out of more than one mud hole (pro tip: put the chains on BEFORE you crawl of into a Dren hole) and some nasty loose sand too.

Do you go into the outback with your rig? I would love to have your cargo capacity and a hard top. My jeep only has a bikini top (I know, I'm obsessed ) so she's for warm weather off roading. Unless I have to turn off a stock tank after a blizzard thats 300 yards from the main road.

I have a snatch block as well haven't used it yet as I don't have my winches on the truck yet. Chain's aren't common here for obvious reasons, really only the Blue Mountains and Victoria high country get snow in winter.

The outback is pretty far away. Plus not being a fan of the heat haha I kinda stick around the coast. I'm hoping to one day do the TeleTrack up at the northern tip of Australia. But that's something quite a few years away at best.

I am planning on putting in draws in the back and set up a fold out bed so I can camp in her when I want to. Another plan for possibly next year when I get back into her. I also plan on doing a exo-cage to mount a roof rack on. Save the gutters and all that.
