All I can say is...Gotcha!
Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
back to topicThis is an ASW ship. Like a WWII convoy escort. She doesn't need everything a fully equipped explorer does. When a vessel intended to perform a limited range of functions is designed, it is normally optimized for those functions and any additional functions are vestigial at best. I like this idea a lot. Always wondered why Starfleet never had the equivalent of a Spruance class ASW destroyer running about using the 24th Century version of the BQQ-5. Odd that eighty years after Balance of Terror, the Rihannsu can still hide with near impunity. I think the textures should emphasize her specialized role as well. She should have sensor strips all over and there should be no angle you can look at her from where at least three are not in plain view.
Thought we needed some technobabble to support Helkite's new system. Hope this hangs together enough to suit everyone.Jane's Defense Monthly said:The Foresight Tactical Detection system is a new way of detecting ships which have a very low emission state or are cloaked. Originally developed for search and rescue operations in areas with a high density of objects or emitters, it was intended to speed up the accurate location and subsequent rescue of personnel trapped on ships which have lost power and have limited supplies of atmosphere or other life support resources remaining. Foresight uses gravimetric variances measured in the nanogram range coupled with perceived differences from the norm in the dielectric steady state of local tachyon particles. The Starfleet Corps of Engineers Research Branch developed a way to improve the original systems through both hardware and software upgrades along with improved FTL field processor capabilities. The Foresight system is very complex and requires significant training to use effectively, so it is not currently in widespread use throughout Starfleet. Nevertheless, it has significantly improved the abilty to locate and track low visibility, low EMCON, and cloaked ships. Several previously unknown Rihannsu facilities have been discovered near the Neutral Zone through the use of Foresight.

Fair enough, I just thought a Tactical II would be good considering it's a combat vessel and incase tactical 1 is destroyed during combat, like it explodes etc.
Sounds good none the less. I really need to get back to the Midway bridge I was making some 6-8 months ago.
Why? Did HK put kjc on a polygon budget? As to 'giving HK ideas', this is a frakkin' fabulous idea! I like it when he thinks outside the box and the end result is something pretty special.I wonder how many polygons that Breen fighter would need
