• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. Hello:
I know some of you might still remember me, I was indeed far more active during the so-called golden age of A2-modding, but I say there is no time like the present! So here I am.

I have a full-time job, that is why I come so seldomly, I'll try to come more often because I have been working in new starship models for mod ideas I still have in mind. And I'd like to share pics of them. So let me start presenting my custom Star Trek timeline and one of Earth Starfleet's reserve ships, the Newton class, otherwise known as the USS Kelvin (in my custom timeline it will be the UES Kelvin):

I'll be posting more pics, but you can always check my DeviantArt gellery here -> https://chiletrek.deviantart.com/

Is that for Armada 2....? If not, oh well. Welcome back, says the new guy who just got Armada 2 and just started modding it.

Hello:
Welcome to the comminuty! :excited:.

As for your question, I am debating if to make it for "Fleet Operations" or for the "Classic A2" mod by Apoclaydon :) .

Hello:
Thank you for the warm welcome! Here is another ship for Starfleet's Reserve Fleet! :D .

ufp_axanar_destroyer_1_by_chiletrek-dccj4v0.png

It is actually a combination of two destroyer designs, but I melded them into one as this makes more sente to me :plan:.

Thank you very much! Life's got a bad turn right now but I'll try to have renders done for 2 other Axanar-era ships before I start making my own version of the Ares class.

Thank you very much! :D . Here I leave the last of the 4 main ships used during that time period (before the 4-years war), the Argo class carrier!

I am still looking for references and designs for a shuttlecraft, although I liked the Kelvin's shuttles.

Very cool, but I would have rounded out the area where the pylons connect to the ship.

For shuttles, a hybrid design of the NX-01's shuttlepods and the Kelvin timeline shuttle might be a good place to start as it seems this mod is supposed to take place in between ENT and the loss of the Kelvin (though the USS Kelvin was never lost in the prime timeline).

I may have done that, but I remembered these are meant to be older ships :D . I'll give more details to the more modern fleet :D .

My idea is for this mod to be in Kirk's era... so kinda like an alternate Yesteryears of sorts? (as long as Majestic does like the idea, hehehe) .

Thank you very much! :excited:. I'll see if I can start a new model by the weekend.

Hello:
Here I have 4 pics in 1 of an Axanar-era cruiser I created inspired by the classic Constitution class. It needs a proper name, any suggestions are welcomed!

axanar_era_special_cruiser_pics_by_chiletrek-dcdaejg.png

So far, the only name I have been suggested is Musashi Class Heavy Cruiser.

Looking good mate. Have you thought of the Declaration class as a name?

That would make sense as old-canon/fan inspired canon and/or FASA/SFB+SFC claimed that the many of the lower registry Connies were Declaration class ships refitted into Coonies, so the Declaration class being very similar to the Connie makes the most sense.

Yeah that's where I got the idea for the name from. Accounts for the low registries like the USS Constellation.

I have not, but it looks like a good alternative to consider :) .

Well, that could give a background to those ships, even though I admit I wanted to be that cruiser a hero ship/limited production run/test-bed for Connies .

In an off-topic topic: For all Robotech fans out there. Here is my renewed model of the Battlefortress SDF-03!

I'm haven't seen BSG, but those models look great (though the shine makes them look like plastic). A minor weathering effect might help tone that plastic look down. That, and lots of surface detail. While it may seem strange, literal nuts and bolts turn something fake to something more real.

Hello:
Well, that is the best I can do with the programs and time I have. But I cannot get to add more details due to factors like bigger textures been inconvenient to me and the scale of the ships ingame will still make most details to go unnoticed. Besides,I think I've got it quite close to the Stargate canon as they are :) .

Robotech? Aaaaargh, my childhood! How I miss the adventures of good old Rick Hunter.

Love the detail on your Stargate ships Chile, puras bellezas!

Are you making these ships for general beauty shots or are you making them for any games?

Hello:
Well, here I leave the SDF-04 for you to see aswell :D .

I plan all these ships to eventually be part of mods for Armada2 (either FleetOps or Classic A2) :) .

That is terrific Chile, I have the entire Robotech collection, so this brings back lots of great memories for me. All we need are some VF-1 Valkyries flanking those puppies in formation. It's too bad Armada has limited options for transformations (For the Valkyries to switch between Jet, robot and half-robot forms) outside of the Borg Fusion weapon, which will work only partially to create that effect. Otherwise there could have been a fantastic Robotech addon.

I really look forward to seeing what your mods (Robotech and otherwise) bring in the future, love the ships.

Thank you very much! (and also cool your spanish phrase from before :D ).

His Gundam stuff is also top notch!

Well the folks around here put the stock modelers to shame more often than not. I don't think I have a single original ship or station left ingame that doesn't have a modded counterpart. I miss the days of booming Armada modding, ah the memories.

Stargate, Robotech, Star Trek, I wonder what else you have up your sleeves Chile. Haha.

I'm adding so many new factions to my game I literally have run out of places to put new races and now I'm mashing together different universes just so I can add everything I want. Sheesh. I wonder what all this modding has done to the campaign...

(My native language is Spanish, so I figured being from Chile you'd understand me lol).
