• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I know the benefits when we can have a new ship by kitbashing parts, but there is also something about having a completely new model to work with.

You know, I have never been a fan of the deflector dish hanging down from the saucer. Never looked right to me. Just a personal opinion. Good job on the model none the less.

ive actually changed it for a the Saladin class.. it now has pod attached to the neck above the warp engine that houses the defector dish.. working on a similar mod for the Surya as well..

Also.. for those that aren't on the Discord.. the Mod has been officially renamed to Star Trek Armada: Starfleet Command.. or it could also potentially be Fleet Operations: Starfleet Command. As i have taken the combat and movement from the Starfleet Command games and begun redoing the physics, movement, weapons and such to represent those games. Ranging from the missile throwing Mirak to the mighty warships of the Klingon Empire.. to strong, resilient fleet of the United Federation of Planets. you will have the ability to run through the early years of each race as they progress through the timeline from the TOS, into the TMP and General War eras, into The Lost Era. This is where it will be the most interesting, as there was no Starfleet Battles set in that era.. we did have Starfleet Command 3 which was set in the TNG/DS9 era.. but that game only shared the bare minimum with its predecessors.. I'm still going to endeavor to make to the combat fun and engaging.. as you will have to decide what kind of ships you will bring to bear.. ships will be expensive to build and take a while to construct.. but battles will rage on and one ship could be the turning point in a battle...

obviously I will keep updating this thread as I make more progress..

Making progress.. have three of the Kzinti/Mirak ships in the game.. and working on the fourth.. the Mirak and their missiles are super fun to use.. thanks to the contributions from both Starfox for the mirak ships and dvatreknerd for his release of the Shakurian race that had the Starfleet Command Missile sod and sprites.. we have fully functional SFC drones.. as well as a couple of anti missile weapons as well.. because of the way the point defense weapon works in Armada 2, its not really possible to create the exact Anti Missile Defense/Anti Drone Defense seen in SFC.. but with some trickery with hit chances, we can get a close approximation.. of course if we feel that missiles are too strong of weapons or that the anti drone defense needs a buff, can always do that.. and without further ado.. here are some some shots of the Mirak/Kztinti ships about to encounter some Klingon forces....

also featured here.. is the Klingon D6 battle cruiser.. I did a sort of major mesh adjustment to my existing D7 model to bring it more in line with the SFB D5/D6.. the D6 in reality was just a less armed, armored D7... and the D5 was its predecessor.. but I decided that I wanted the D5/D6 to closer to each other.. so taking a little liberty with the StarfleetBattles material.

Completely understand the swap to the older TOS style D6 design, I do remember the SFB continuity having specific designs on that front.

I think that design lineage also inspired Masao's Starfleet Museum ships later.
