Which of My Projects Do You Find Most Interesting?

I am just curious and I did a poll over on DA and thought since here is where my work is mainly posted and ultimately the download itself I would ask here instead.

I am rather surprised that TOS and TMP eras aren't more popular and so far no mods have been released for these eras.

It's the one I am working on at the moment. It's also the bigger of the two mods.

Yeah I like them both, but then again I am biased as I am making them both.

TBH, I haven't been here since the beginning of YY like most of you here, and to be really honest, I am not a huge fan of the tmp era. I actually like the ent era alot. Not to say I wouldn't look forward to both mods and enjoy both, but my interest was captured by the coalition war mod more so than YY.

Same for me to be honest, I've always liked the ENT era more than the TMP one for whatever reason.

I still have every intention of downloading and playing both mods once they're done, but in this poll I went for Coalition War

Side note - how come no option to vote for your BSG mod? Or was this supposed to be a Star Trek project poll only?

The two Star Trek mods are my main ones, the BSG mod is like a side project that I work on when I have had my fill of Trek. As far as I see if Adm_Z is working on a BSG mod, so players will still get there fix there, however no one is working on a ENT or TMP mod. Yeah that's my reasoning, perhaps it's flawed but meh yeah lets say it's a Trek only poll.

I am dismayed by the lack of an "all of the above" option. So I voted for YY because it's been longer in coming, and because I don't think of ENT as Trek.

EDIT to clarify 'cause that sounds TERRIBLE: I don't think of ENT as being as much a part of my personal experience with Trek, and so while I look forward to anything Majestic releases, there's Trek as a whole and there's my idea of what makes Trek what it is to me, in which ENT plays little to no part while the motion-picture era is the foundation.

I can understand that, really. Apart from a few great episodes in the third and fourth seasons, it didn't really appeal to me. The pre-Federation scenario is nice, but one would expect a United Earth fleet to consist of more than Americans and thinly veiled stereotypes. Oh, and don't get me started on the tech... This is why I prefer Maj's designs instead of the NX and others as pre-Fed ships.

Although I find the Yesteryears project very interesting, I voted for the "Coalition War" because it sounds promising and intriguing. Never been a fan of ENT (aside the MACOs ) but I like what you made of it, Maj!

The way I look at ENT and even Star Trek 11 is this.

In Enterprise the Temporal Cold War from the 30th century played a major role, however if you recall the Voyager episode Future's End in which Voyager is transported back to 1996 in which they stopped the destruction of the 29th century?

This I look at a major point in history that in turns causes the temporal cold war and wolla we have the Temporal Cold war which in turns changes history and we have Enterprise. So I look at it as a seperate time line that spans into the new Star Trek movie hence the Kelvin, different tech and uniforms etc. Added to this Nero and Spock further changes the timeline so they were already in an alter timeline before Nero came back in-time.

However at the core, I like the unsual and such, a reason Enterprise and Star Trek 2009 appeals to me more than it does to most.

This is why I prefer Maj's designs instead of the NX and others as pre-Fed ships.

Great to see changing things have appealed to you both. When I made the alternative NX class, I thought, "Are people going to like this or not?", glad to see some like it as much as I do.

I went with Coalition War meself. I became a large fan of Trek around the time Enterprise was on, so I always enjoy mods where its featured in someway. And this one looks pretty legit.

Still was a tough choice between it and YY's though...

Right, though the flag system was put in place to see how diverse the community really is as many don't use the location system correctly and the Administration would like users if possible to use it correctly, otherwise all that coding was done for nothing. Signatures and usertitles are there for the users to input such info and images as football teams, tv shows, things about themselves etc.

Generall I think the ENT stuff sucked but thats just me; but then again I personally don't see what Majestic as ENT stuff because he is way more creative then they were and will produce a much superior product.

That said I have been wanting YY way longer and grew up with TMP.

While I'd like to see both out in the open, I'm still more inclined at YY the more I think about it.

So much agreed gents, the TMP-era and its surrounding films (I-VI) in general had arguably more ambition and stride compared to ever so-stale ENT or the TNG flicks for that matter, with the exception of First Contact and a few good ENT episodes.

It's also respect for the first modernization of Trek in 1979. Without TMP, the rest would not have been possible. Besides, there's also the Connie Refit.

I chose The Coalition War, largely due to the fact that as a child I was subjected to TMP stuff and even then could not stand William Shatner with his egotistical arrogance that grew as time went on nor did I enjoy any of TOS either and was subjected to it quite frequently by my step-father.

I much rather the ENT stuff and rather enjoy watching Majestic creating these when he thinks I’m not looking, such intense concentration
