• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well....

This is something Majestic and I are aware of. How it happened is still being looked into. There is no reason to be alarmed. It appears to be a glitch and nothing more.

Indeed, there seems to be a few glitches lately, like PM's coming in with only quotes. EAS_Intrepid received one from me like that and I received one from another member a few hours ago.

I will be seeing about updating the forum software with the latest version over my Christmas holidays.

Update

For those wondering, the reason behind this...
Most users ever online was 283, 01-11-2006 at 20:12.

It's actually very simple. That day we had over 200 spiders/search engine BOTs accessing - scanning our forum. Bots mostly from Yahoo, Google, and MSN search engines. So, that was why we had 283 total online users. It was very unusual to have that many bots on here all at the same time. Normally, it's between 1-20 bots scanning the site, however, that day was strange.

I hope this will settle any further questions about this.

Yep, we've been google'd!

Indeed... We've been Google'd, Yahoo'd, and Micro"Shaft'd" (MSN)!:p

Well, atleast people should be able to find us using a search engine now.

Yep, same visitors my site has - Inktomi Corporation (aka Yahoo), Google, Microsoft, MIT (yes, they observe all these sites), Altavista, and other spiders and webcrawlers.
