Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Looks more Xindi-Reptilian to me, but a different kind of Dominion Bug Ships is possible (If I take off my glasses)Great work on the Shrike, Walshicus.
I'm also not sure whether I like the design or not. For the mystery of the first few episodes of season 3 to work, it needed to be an unrecognizable design.... but in retrospect, I wish it hinted at least slightly at the classic Dominion designs. Would have been a nice bit of foreshadowing as well.
Hah, yeah I think the original model for the Xindi ship - I'd purchased it to save some time with the set - was meant that way. Before I textured that is.That largest Xindi Reptilian ship looks very similar to a Protoss Carrier! HAHAHA it's now canon, yay. lol
I love the kitbrushing and all your work so far man. For the World Raiser do you know why they moved the deflector to the saucer and not keep it where it was in Prime? Do you know what is there in its place on the Engineering hull?
Do you do commissions Walshicus?
Same here! The ones I've seen look more Star Wars-ey (while not a bag thing at all, I love me some Wars). They look out of place next to some classic Trek designs like BoPs and Fed Saucer-Stardrive-nacelle ships.Would love to see your take on the Rakelli from SFC3. I have a couple kitbashes of their ships on here from when I was trying to flesh out their fleet about ten years ago.
Where are these beauties getting relesed?Someone showed me a picture of a ship from the latest Strange New Worlds (I'm not really watching it) and I thought it was interesting enough to have a go!
In the absence of anything but a single ship name (Kelcie Mae) I'm naming the class "colAndor" after the colAndor scrolls from beta canon, with it being a joint Starfleet/Tellarite/Andorian design.

Huh, that is an interesting design. I looked it up and I totally don't remember that episode.I know how much you hate organic shapes, but have you ever considered the Etanian Order ship? You should be able to find the screencaps at ex astris scientia under an article that screams your name called "Obscure yet Interesting Ships". I'd link it but I don't remember our policy on external links
Thanks! Photoshop and Substance at the moment.Pretty awesome work as always.
What program do you use for your texturing?
Yeah I aim to get substance in the future. Atm it's plain old photoshop. Which do you use first when creating a texture? Thanks! Photoshop and Substance at the moment.
