Well TA is the single best ever RTS I have ever played on and even more moddable than Armada 2 so I was wondering if anyone here has played on it?

I have over 12 great mods (there are hundreds of mods, and above a thousend fan made units out there) for it including several based in space (indipendance war) and some really breath taking units (including a working stargate with full animations, one of the best pieces of scripting ive seen). Even though its over ten years old it remains my faverite game. plus there is TA Spring a fan based game engine that playes TA in full 3D. its still has a large community and well now i'm just ranting on lol.

but seriuosly I'd love to here whether or not any of you hav played on this segend of a game.

P.S Supreme Comander is TA's spiritual successor

I never played the original TA.

But I do rather like Spring, good engine there, even if it dose get a little particle heavy with some mods.

Ya it does kinda slow down on even some of the more powerful systems. Im still surprised though that someone made it though. it is a true honour to TA lol. not all the mods of the original were made for spring though (shame). but since it uses the same unit files you ca just dump all the hundreds (in my case) into it lol.

I love Total Annihilation, just haven't played it in a while since I can run (barely) Supreme Commander. But I do remember playing LAN games far into the night and loving every minute of it, I think my favorite unit was the Vulcan Minigun Long Range Plasma Battery... If you can see it it go boom...

I hated it when two hard AI's build Vulcans or chainsaws and then I go boom lol.

I have played it, years ago. I remember how bad the graphics were (compared to those these days anyway). Don't remember much about it though (apart from my Commander which could walk underwater)?

Supreme Commander though... well, the graphics on there are brilliant (from what I've seen anyway). I have the game, and the Forged Alliance expansion pack, got them for Christmas (8 months ago), though have not yet played them due to not having a computer capable.

Ya I know its super old, Spring is much better graphics wise as it is in full 3d. still regardless of its age there is still a huge community that are still maing mods today. In fact ones release date is today lol.

as for supreme commander i can play it but only on lowest settings lol and haven't got forged allience yet. its still great though heh

Same here. Loved this game in its day. I have the original, and I remember looking for mods once, but only found stuff for the later expansion pack versions.

Got TA:Kingdoms too woot. its good but it took me some time to get into it as they were very different in great many ways.

You can get the CC data from the ta universe website as this is whats needed for mods. you cannot however get the mission files or anything as atari is still holding onto it lol.
