The third and last of the 2009 radio plays available within the the week at BBC - BBC Radio 4 Programmes - Afternoon Play, Torchwood, The Dead Line
What a beginning to this story with Ianto saying that Jack is dying.
Rhys makes his radio debut and quite good having him and Gwen team up together to find out what is going on while Ianto stays by Jack's side.
Quite amusing when Rhys said that Gwen rang him on the phone telling him not to use the phone!
Nice reference to Captain Scarlet who like Jack is indestructible.
It is known that mobile phones can be hazardous to one's health from too much use, but the reference here of them being a time bomb is meant very literally.
Stella says that Jack is no John Travolta. Well I am not quite sure he does have a remarkable likeness to him.
A well acted scene when Ianto talked to the comatose Jack which was soon followed up by Jack's last line which ended The Dead Line. Both were very moving.
