From Wikipedia:
"The Tomorrow People is a children's science fiction television series, devised by Roger Price which first ran between 1973 and 1979. The show was re-imagined between 1992 and 1995, this time with Roger Price as executive producer. A third incarnation that ran between 2001 and 2007 saw a return to the original conception and characters, but this time produced as a series of audio plays by Nigel Fairs for Big Finish Productions. All three incarnations have been cancelled mid-run."

"Premise
All incarnations of the show concerned the emergence of the next stage of human evolution known colloquially as Tomorrow People. Born to human parents, an apparently normal child might at some point between childhood and late adolescence experience a process called "breaking out", when they develop their special abilities. These abilities include psychic powers such as telepathy, telekinesis, and teleportation. However, they are physically unable to deliberately kill others."

I nearly at the end of my viewing of the original 1970s TV series with only seven of the 68 episodes left to watch.

I saw the 1990s series when it was on early in the mornings on the ABC about a decade ago.

Have not listened to any of the audios from Big Finish Productions (the makers of the Doctor Who audios).

Quite a fun and at times silly show to watch. I like The Tomorrow People.

Achilles Heel Episode 2: Everything To Lose:
Season 7, Episode 4.
The concluding episode of this story is much better than the start episode.
Quite interesting having Andrew and Hsui Tai trying to save the others.

The Living Skins Episode 1: A Harmless Fashion:
Season 7, Episode 5.
Very good plot involving jumpsuits who are actually aliens trying to take over the world through consumerism!

The Living Skins Episode 2: Cold War.
Finale of season 7.
Very apt title Cold War which concludes The Living Skins.
Very good resolution in the way the alien menace was defeated.

War of the Empires Episode 1: Close Encounter:
First episode of the only story of the eighth and final season of the original series.
Very good storyline which involves a war between the Sorsons and Thargons although the former looks terrible while the latter looks tacky.
Interestingly the story has a very amusing (and nameless) US President. Good timing considering that in the real world the next US President will soon be chosen.

War of the Empires Episode 2: Contact!:
Season 8, Episode 2.
In addition to the Sorsons, other aliens seen here looks way more tacky than the Sorsons. Not very convincing looking aliens.
Despite their best efforts, The Tomorrow People found themselves in a double pickle.

Finished with the last two episodes of War of the Empires and overall it was a good way to end the original series.

Completed viewing of The Tomorrow People original series complete on DVD with viewing of the final disc in the set with The Final Jaunt, interview with some of The Tomorrow People cast members who done the commentaries.

Nicholas Young (John) said that he hated the story The Man of Emily which introduced Peter somebody and said that his career seemed to have died after that.

Looking through IMDb it looks like Nick is right about this Peter's career:
Peter Davison (I)

Nick was quite blunt on what he thought of the 1990s version of The Tomorrow People with just one word - rubbish. A criticism from Nick about the 1990s series is that despite the name there was hardly anything familiar to fans of the original series.

As the interviewees pointed out there was no link made in the 1990s series with the original series although there was some talk about it which didn't go anywhere.

This is in contrast to say the current Doctor Who TV series as it bought elements of the past into the present when Sarah and K9 turned up (notwithstanding old foes).

The New Gods:
The New Gods released in April 2001 is the first story of the first audio season from Big Finish Productions (makers of the Doctor Who audio dramas) or season 12 according to the following website: http://www.clivebanks.co.uk/TP%20Timeline.htm

Nicholas Young is again John and Philip Gilbert as TIM with new Tomorrow persons in Elena (Helen Goldwyn) and Paul (Daniel Wilson).

Even though this is first time the character of Elena has appeared, Elena has been around for a while in context of the story but Paul is introduced as being new to the Tomorrow People.

This story written by Gareth Roberts and Rebecca Levene has the Tomorrow People investigate a couple of celebrities who not all they seem to be. They have the power to turn fan worship into god worship.

This is a pretty good opening story for the Big Finish series with a very good cliffhanger for Part 1 and the revelation of the real menace in the second and concluding episode.
