• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I am currently pulling guard duty for my mother's house...
My idiot nephew got involved with some people and left town before they could come for him. Those individuals decided to do a drive by shooting at his place of residence, my mother's house. Her house and car took about 8-10 rounds. I have been crashing at my kid's house across the street. I had parked my jeep in front of my mother's house on a concrete slab. So, they had to hit the house from an angle. This kept the rounds from entering the living room that my mother was in. Law enforcement has gathered the evidence and they are trying to keep an eye on things but they are stretched thin. I have been sitting in my son's yard watching my mother's house the last two nights. Mentally, I am in full deployment mode. My family is a bit shocked by what this mindset looks like. If these idiots try to make good on their threat to come back, they are in for a surprise.
It is going to suck to come down from this high when things return to normal. Silver lining is I have stopped thinking about how everything in my life has fallen apart...lol

The sad part is that I am in my comfort zone. I accepted when I came hone that nothing exciting would happen. It has taken just over 10 years, but that mindset is still there.

Everything has calmed down but my nephew is still an idiot. So, anything is possible. My personal life has pretty much imploded. I will survive, But anything else requires another person to do something. Don't have the will to keep fighting just to lose everything. I can accept a reduced existence.

Hang in there Frog. It may take a bit but things can and will get better. I know my own problems don't match yours buts its been a long ass kicker of a month here too. Name a part on a round baler and I probably have broken it in the last month, plus a damaged PTO on a tractor, and just normal wear and tear, its been a stressfull time. Today was the first time in three straight weeks that I managed to not break something all day and I even finished making hay in the SOB field I started the first of last month. It was a good day. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't worry about the past, you can't change it, just try and learn from it the best you can. Take the small wins where you can. And don't be afraid to ask for help. I'm really bad at asking for help by the way but if I hadn't I'd still have a busted tractor and be hip deep in the Dren. Best wishes and keep your head up. :racoon:

Ok it was like 2 seconds on the state news.:lol2: https://www.steamboatradio.com/2023/09/29/fire-in-moffat-county/
Thats me on the white horse in the back right. In the far back is the big ass honkin fire that is heading towards the pasture that the cattle where in less than a hour before. That was a little to close for comfort. Just glad I saw the smoke and we had enough time to get the cattle out of the fires path. It did burn about a quarter of the pasture but the cows are safe so all is good!

Looks like my youngest son is looking into joining the Marines. He wanted to go to the recruiting office. The offices here have Army and Marines. The Army recruiter is lacking energy, never in the office, and never answers his phone. The Marine recruiter was energetic, caring, and amazingly honest about what one could expect. He still has some paperwork to do and pretty much the entire process but it would do him well.

I really really hope the second movie is good. If they manage to make it good (and do justice to the ending) maybe they'll be able to adapt the next books as well. (Also looking forward to the movie version of Alia, who is one of my favorite characters in the entire saga).
