• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I have finished a new mesh for Armada. I have decided that it is too good a mesh for me to try to texture with my limited skills. I do understand that everyone here has their own projects that they are working on but I think this is a model that a lot of people would be interested in.

Have a look:
STXIMirandamodel.jpg

I created the model inspired by the model originally created by Ricky "MadMan" Wallace. You can see his model at his website which I will be very willing to disclose to anyone who PM me (don't want to break any rules). I did receive his blessing on this project. All of the model was done by me with the exception of the Bridge and Nacelles. They were created by our own Amateur. He has granted me permission to use those Items and I can forward his permission to any one who may be concerned.

Anyways, if there is any texture gurus out there that is interested, please let me know either here or PM and I will be happy to send the MS3D file.

Feedback is also welcomed here from everyone.

Man that is an amazing rendition right there. How about using our AR Enterprise's textures as a base. I'm pretty sure that some parts would match easily.

An excellent idea! Wish I'd thought of it. The engines should match very closely, should they not? I cannot remember if there is a blank saucer or not. But those are pretty easy to make, anyways.

Beautiful work SciFi Fan. I know Madman's work very well and his Mad Universe. You can actually also find his work on Sci-Fi Meshes (SFM).

Thank you guys for the Idea. I am impressed as I was able to map it pretty easily for it being a Constitution Class texture. It still could use some tweeks but, it does look good and can give a good idea as to what it will look like.

I still have an un-mapped version of the model if someone would like to do something that the model could call its own.

Also for those who are wondering, she is 2766 poly.

Ya know, fer a fella what was sayin' he can't texture, she shore does look purdy! lol. Outstanding job. But then again, with a model which looks this good you could cover her in sack cloth and ashes and she'd still get wolf whistles. lmao.

Ha ha. I am not very good at creating high quality textures. That's why the first models I created were TOS. They are the easiest to create textures for.

Thank you very much. Hard to imagine that I started doing this not even a year ago (May 2009). The members here and at Armada 2 Files have been very helpful to me. As limited as my skills are, I wouldn't be as good as I am without people like Majestic to help me along.

Also another heads up here SciFiFan. Apart from the customized Reliant registry, I'll also merge and integrate some textures from the p81 Miranda into a new texture file. It would add more detail on the hull which is lacking currently. The torpedo launcher and some hull parts are too plain.

I'll have them up ASAP

I really appreciate the help. I agree that the hull and weapon pod is too plain. I also would like the numbers for the bay doors. I'll be waiting patiently. :D

Well I am glad I could help. I see it that it's the responsibility of all modders and modeller to help new and upcoming peers so the community can continue and people all round including the new comer can enjoy the game and modding it even more. :)

I have re-mapped a part of the Miranda with the original textures provided to me by Jetfreak and Thunderfoot. I also did another mapped part of it with the P81 textures. Look at the comparison.

I say change the torpedo pod back to what it was, looks better that way. However the rest of the improvements look good.

Really superb execution right there. Seems like the p81 parts fit in just right.

For those waiting patiently, I should have the AR Miranda ready in a day or so. I have also started my next model. I will post pics when I can.

Looking at the preview pics again though, I think the windows on the saucer rim are a bit overdone. I do recall that the AR ships have far fewer windows than their prime counterparts.

I have actually already fixed that. In fact, in the last pics posted, they are better, you just can't see it. :D
