• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Have you ever tried to read Star Wars Books and not had a clue where to start? Or even not know what books there are or how they fit together?
The attached file should help you.

I have got all the books and grouped them by genre and miniseries. Providing a reference point for any trek fan.
(NB , I have also found them to be a great reference point/inspiration for MOD building).

Enjoy

I've got about 70ish of those books mostly from the post ROTJ era books though I have a fair few of the others.

I have found for myself most of the pre-ANH books are not as good (or at least my interest in them is not as high perhaps) and I don't have any of the young readers books.

I agree with Rod, I haven't read, and wont read any of the pre-ANH books unless they still deal with Han, Luke, etc... They just aren't as interesting to me and I particularily love the Legacy of the Force series...

The only books you need to read are the ones by Timothy Zahn. Even if "The Last Command" IS a huge letdown....

i liked the "X-wing" novels specifically because they weren't dependant on the main characters of the film. i love the Legacy of the Force series, and i also like the republic commando novels, although my favourite is the second (since it has a lot of delta squad involvement)

I would have to say "New Jedi Order" does it all for me...

Mmm yes, NJO is by far my favorite, followed by the Legacy of the Force books, and the X-Wing novels...

The NJO books were good too, though the Vong were, IMO, too far removed from the norm to be entirely 'believable' (for whatever that means in terms of star wars)
they were an effective threat however and you could certainly see why they had problems dealing with them

What sums up NJO is that fact that while you are reading there is the definate feeling that anyone could die, that was a first for Star Wars books, just look at Vector Prime (ie book 1)
