• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hello there. They call me the Starfleet Kid. And here I am.

I've actually been a member here for a while and, thanks to Majest's help, I was able to get my ability to actually DO something of meaning at this site all squared away earlier today. Happily, I can finally say, I'm here.

Those of you whom I know from A2Files will no doubt be like, "damn it, HE showed up, this place is gonna be RUINED", to which I say, yup. ;)

The smileys here are sure a lot different. I like the Centauri one. Could use a Vorlon one. Which begs the question of what a Vorlon smiley would look like.... different to everyone, perhaps? :D

By way of introduction, I've been involved in A2 modding for the better part of four years, I'm happy to say, not always as seriously or as directly as I am now. I'm also quite fond of Bridge Commander. And I recently got myself a copy of SFC3.

I'm intensely proud to be part of the A2 modding community, and since MSFC is such an integral part of it, I'm only too happy to be here.

you may have seen me lurking quietly on the filefront forums somewhere as highguard knight, but its very rare that i post there, unless its on a major topic or project (for example the former YY and parallels topics over there).

Hope you enjoy yourself here :)

Oh yeah, I remember HGK-- seem to also recall trading files for a carrier vessel in A2 with you at some point. Nice to see ya.

Indeed you did :)
its still my favourite ship at this time lol. i modified the fighter weapon so its toggled on an off rather than always on (my old laptop used to throw fits about it lol), and filled out the build list with shuttles, runabouts (capable of performing various other functions like deploying turrets and sensor stations, repairing damaged vessels etc) and additional fighters :). makes it an excellent multi-role support craft :lol:

I've actually upgraded it since then somewhat, using a couple modifications in the code here and there. Now my carrier HAS to launch built fighters. No more 'special weapon' fighters. The combat air patrol has to be built to be deployed. And the Carrier unit itself is otherwise armed solely with point defense phasers. Makes for a more balanced ship.

I'm thinking of badgering for permission for one of the models I had in mind and releasing that ship. But like so many other projects.... we'll see. :D
