Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.
Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.
We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.
Thats because both share a common influence which would be B5 earth ships and the Aliens movie SulacoReminds me of the ship you entered in the contest.
Agree with all the others - nice start. Love the design of the back/engines. Not something that is usually seen.
Have you considered how you want to continue? Ribbing might look good on the lighter sections; maybe joining it up with the grey?
Looking forward to more!
Never thought about the whole train thing. lolinspired me as well, however it has turned into more of an armoured Train. lol.
anyway looking great with the new detailing. Almost an atlantian feel with some of it.
What I do is start with one mesh and then take the part I'm working on and separate it so I don't get too cluttered. Once an area is done, it is re-merge with the whole model so when the model is finished it is one object.Looking good -RJB- lol
um a question: is the model all one big mesh or do you sometimes use multiple meshes and just put them together. I use one huge mesh. If you do use one big mesh you are one hell of a modeller compared to me. all the detail you put on is imense lol.

For this ship I want to base the detailing around the Sulaco from the movie Aliens and some of the Dead space art work. I want a ship that gives that horror movie feeling.

That's because it's lacking any kind of atmosphere to it. A hunted house during the day is not very scary but at night that's a whole other story.Sorry to say, but I don't see your ship as "scary"... atleast, not yet. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. None the less, I like the ship so far.
Well I think I'm going to do the engine room next and then maybe the computer core. (give me some time to come up with some ideas for the bridge.)Ok, that is looking really awesome. I can't wait to see the bridge.
Don't worry I'm in no rush, it's just that I haven't given much thought on what I want to bridge to be like while on the other hand I have some ideas for the engine room and comp core.No hurry. I'm just foaming at the mouth already. I know art takes it's own time.
