I've started preliminary work on the Dignity Class revamp today and I seem to have come across a certain error when I re-export the SOD in ms3d. It looks fine in the ms3d viewer but when I view the model in Storm 3d and in-game, it seems to be messed up, as in, you can "see through" the mesh. This is also the case with the BI:VR D7 and Bird of Preys.

Any advice on this? Or better yet, has anybody encountered the same problem?

You have one of 2 problems either the mesh was exported as an A1 SOD or you have the back faces of part of the mesh showing.

This is probably the culprit man, I made sure I'd export it as an A2 sod, even double checked it. So anyway, how do you fix the orientation of the mesh faces?

If it is the back faces showing you will have to select the effected faces and reverse the vertex order. That is found in the Face supmenu. The best way to check for showing back faces is to open the model in the Selection Editor. Set it to textured and leave the Backface Culling on. If the backfaces are showing thoughs parts of the model will disapear. If that don't do it flip me the meshes and I'll take a look.

The affected parts/groups of the model will also show a darker colouration than the rest of the model if you select 'Coloured smoothing groups' from the right-click menu (NB: if the entire model is very dark, the whole thing needs to be reversed).

It's a fairly common problem, like Starfox says just: Select the group(s) --> Click 'Face' menu --> then click 'Reverse Vertex Order'

You can also just select the group(s) and use Ctrl+Shift+F

Cheers for the info, reverse faces should be easier to find now. I've also noticed that as well, lowering the emissive into black is a dead giveaway to the reversed mesh parts. :)

What I do is delete the textures then add them back later. It's easier to find them (reversed faces etc) with no textures and the good thing is they keep their coordinates so no need to re-texture, just add them back in and assign them to the correct group.
