• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I am planing and working on a new Mod Project, As of yet I am only planning on Sharing the Mod with My Brother and Only those that ask for it.

I am Planing on adding a few New Races: Borg Resistance, Orion Syndicate, Romulan Imperial State.

for now I am using Stock Models and weapons with some small Mods done to each. I will be (hopefully) making Ai files as well as New GUI's for the Races.

Each will have at least one hero unit.

I am also trying to Change the Game play a bit, I will do this be Changing some of the Races them selves Making the each reliant on different Things, the Orion for Example will be reliant on latinum while the Bord will need more metal for everything and the Federation well I will be making them need to do research for just about everything (ie need to Research the Designs to make Better ships.) the Orion will need to Buy their Ships and weapons from the Black Market, Yes I will be changing even the darn Ferengi.

As of right now I am using stock Models for the Orions, Have not started work on any other Races (aside from putting Locutus in the game with a Sovy.

Ok, that sounded interesting. :p

By the way, as you stated about the Borg Resistance earlier; I get the impression that they are good guys and that they don't talk like the Collective, but like individuals.
After all, the Borg Rebellion in Unimatrix Zero were good guys. ;) Or do you have something else in mind with these ones?

To answer that will be to say that they are their own not part of the collective but also not fully re-accepted back into the old homes.

Perhaps he is refering to the SFC1/2 stock Orions. :confused:

To answer both at the same time: Think of them more as a Black Market and True Pirates, Every thing will be stolen from other races, Ships, Stations and all, they got the Temporal Research station right now as their Starbase.

as for that one, I might just do seeing as I will be needing help with the GUI's and Getting the Computer to play the New Races right.


Another Thing, I read over at A2files about Fleet Ops adding New Code for the ODF files namely: MaxBuild codes, Is this fleet Ops doing it or was it the Upgrade Project, as looking at there site they included the Upgrade Projects work into Fleet Ops and that new Command would be great, the only downside I saw to Fleet Ops was that they removed warp and I feel that was a mistake as I like playing on larger map and was going to include some custom maps with the Mod (i am talking on the range of 50kx50k maps)

The 1.2.5 patch *is* the work of the FleetOps team. It doesn't work for everyone. I think you can probably put warp back in using the A2 Physics Project but the A2PP stuff isn't necessarily going to work with the 1.2.5 patch. It's never been done in a mod before, but it's worth experimenting with 'cause A2PP is what A2 stock should've been.

And I'm like you-- big maps are a definite must. Warp is therefore a necessity. Small maps are for small minds. :lol:

Does that mean that the Max build Code would be in the A2 1.2.5 Patch or only with the Fleetops?

And yes even with the Stock maps it is too easy and quick to take over the maps key points and rule the game from early on.

As for the odf commands, yeah - they're present in the 1.2.5 patch. And it doesn't affect warp at all so know physics changes needed...

You should still download the Physics Project though - distilled awesomeness :lol:

Incursion Class

I have Modded and Added the Incursion Class to the Game.

Yes I know that is easy to do and is Covered the The A2 Modding Bible, but I have also Changed the Stats as well as Weapon Load-out for the ship, It now has the Enterprises Torpedoes as well as Defiant's Anti-Matter mines.

This ship class will be Used in the Story I am Planing to go with the Mod.

I have sent this Over to A2files for Upload as a Teaser to My Mod, I have Decided to Release the Mod to the Whole of the Armada Community as I really need some Critics for my work as I progress along.

If anyone Want to Help out with the Process feel free to PM me with what you Can (or want to work on) or If you have any Models you would likt to Donate to the Mod.


A Little about "The Price of Peace" now that I will make a Released Mod:

A Few Years after ST Nemesis and Prior to the Events of David Macks books ST:Destiny, Starfleet Set back out on the Mission of Exploration sending her ship out into the Reaches of Space further and Further, A new Class of ship has been Commissioned to Explore some Places that the Federation could not Prevision Go, the Incursion Class.


As a note I will be Including copies of the Edit Menu Files for any who want to Make Maps and more Using this Work.

Everyone has to start at the beginning doing the rather easy things like adding a new ship to the game.

My first ship I added was to Armada 1 and was the Dauntless class, back then Westworld's BBOM didn't exist nor any other tutorials so I had to reverse enginner some install instructions to figure out how to get it to work. But it's amazing the feeling you get the first time you do it, it's like you think "Well that wasn't that hard, if I can do that then I certainly can made a mod".

Keep it up just take one step at a time, aim for small achievable goals. And if you ever get a crash with an error message saying something about not enough windows swap files space check for any missing " marks as I gaurantee you most likely have missed one. Its one of the most common things a new modder does even some of us that have been doing it for nearly 10 years still on occassion do it. :thumbsup:

Already had that one happen a few times. Already got some Variants into the Game using various Different Combinations of Weapon files and Such, Just installed the 1.2.5 Patch and cant wait to try it out.

Ok seeing as I have decided to release this as a mod (both fully and in parts as well) I would like to request a Section to shoot Ideas at people about different things , (keep in mind that this will be taking some time as I currently have a lot on my plate right now)


Also I need a bit of help with a few things and was hoping that someone might be able to either point me to where i can get them or even send them to me via email/pm: I am looking for sounds for a few different ST characters to add to some Hero Units and other various points in the game, what I am looking for are:

Janeway, Chakotay, Sisko, Seven, Orion Like sounds, as well as various other new sound for the races any help would be appreciated.
