So, off the success of the 'backdoor pilot' movie from back in February, the show has been picked up for a series. principal photography starts in 2 weeks, and will be shot in LA, not Vancouver, with the series airing from September 24th.
In an interview, Justin Bruenig has revealed that the 'attack mode' car will be getting a new look, although its still based around the Shelby Mustang GT500KR edition. The series picks up 6 months after the movie, and apparently will be in realtime as such, with the cars new gadgets being revealed in each episode.
There's also been details of the first episode leaked.
David Hasselhoff has indicated that he will be appearing in some episodes of the new Knight Rider, although this is also unconfirmed. I think that may be a good thing, as it helps establish a relationship between old and new, as well as father and son

Apparently the first episode will be "A Knight in Shining Armor" - at least they seem to be keeping the naming convention going . Mike Traceur, Charles and Sarah Graiman and Carrie Rivai are all present in the series, along with the car. It has not been confirmed whether Val Kilmer will continue as the cars voice.
2 new characters working for Knight Industries join the team.
There are hints that there will be a major change to Mike's life. Nothing has been revealed although it has been hinted that it harks back to the opening words for the original series.
