this may sound stupid, but I am in need of a cheap wireless mouse. yes, i could go buy one at walmart, but i know once i go spend the money, i'll find my missing one. so i would rather spend less due to the fact that the missing one will indeed pop up as soon as i buy one so i would rather pay cheaper prices for one to use just in case the missing one doesn't pop up.

we have seriously torn the room and everything else apart and cannot find the darn thing and my fiance's about to go insane without a mouse since i am having to use his wired one until i can get the wireless mouse. (he is using a laptop, i am on a desktop) so if anyone knows where the heck i can get a little cheap-o wireless (or even wired at the rate i'm going... ) please send me a link asap!

*note* i am beyond desperate right now!

Have you thought having a look over here in Aus..... just joking. :lol2:

If you have PC markets over there they may be a nice place to look.

I have used Logitech wireless mouses for years now. A wide variety of choices. Good value for the money. Usually less expensive than other brands. Carried by everyone. My preferred retail outlet for all things computers is Office Depot. I can get in, get what I want and get out quickly. Hassle free, which is pretty important to me as I have no desire to listen to a pitch on why I need a home theater system, lol. If I have a hardware or software issue, I can discuss it intelligently with the sales staff. Yeah, they don't have a fancy name or special cars or wear pocket protectors, but they are well trained and well informed. I have teased the manager at my local Office Depot for a very long time now by telling her they need to rename the chain to, "Computer Depot".

When I shop online, the place I go for 'puter stuff is TigerMart. Another hassle free place which always seems to have exactly what I want or need.

I recommend either a Logitech, or a Microsoft mouse. I currently use a Microsoft mobile mouse 4000 because I like its design and size, and it has a thumb back button. It also has the Microsofts blue track technology which allows the mouse to work on pretty much any surface. It will even work on a glass window. The only thing I don't like about it is that the rubber seems to wear down when you use it as much as me. It is usually $30 but I got it for $20 on sale. Microsoft sells cheaper ones which are also good but they don't usually have the back button.

Logitech mouses are usually really good quality. When I look at the staples web site, the Logitech M505(silver) is on sale for $22 which is a really good price but I usually stick with the cheaper one (M305) which is usually $20

If you really just want Cheapo though, just go to your local walmart or staples and pick up the cheap $10 generic brand wireless mouses they have. They will work fine, they just might not be perfect for playing online games and such because they aren't as high speed.

I use the Logitech wireless Laser mouse and keyboard combo, in Australia it cost $35 at Office Works, I don't know if they are available over there but it works so well even using it on my thigh when my loving kitty decides to steal my side of the desk and mouse pad. Like Adm_Z's microsoft mouse, it can be used on any surface like glass etc, or in my case... thigh :p You can usually find cheap stuff online too that work well in the interim until you find what you are looking for.

Yeah I'm using the 6000 and have the same issues with wearing rubber.
It's a great mouse though, having always used Logitec myself, I've been pleasantly surprised by this Microsoft one.

Yeah, same here. Honestly, I ripped the rubber off the scroll wheel, and grip and it works fine and is still comfortable.

I was thinking of something less than $10 USD........ The one that is currently still lost is a Logitech with an itty bitty usb adapter thing that hides in the mouse when not in use.

Kat uses Logitech and I use Microsoft. Our PC's are next to one another and as such we don't want to be controlling each others PC's due to using the same mice. :lol2:

I think a cheap one from a cheap shop (Hot Dollar, Go-Lo etc) or the markets may be your answer AbsintheFairy.

Thanks guys! I was waiting for payday to roll around and it looks like we will never find the stupid thing so i'm giving in and replacing it with another one of the same model. I also noticed other things have gone missing from the room and well, now i'm getting annoyed that **** is coming up missing when it should be there.

Funny thing, the mouse was suppose to have been in a dresser drawer that no one gets in to. my brother may die...... or someone in the house who likes taking my stuff.

Lost mice are always the cats fault. And I don't even have a cat.

I used to use a Microsoft Arc mouse for compactness, and if worked for about 3 months before it started to flake out. Looks really cool but never really fit in my hand. Went back to the Logitech. Logitech is cool too as it pairs up with other Logitech stuff so you can have extra usb dongles. I always keep my mouse in my jacket as I use it at work as well as home, so I can have the same mouse feel and button arrangement wherever I'm at.

My suggestion, always keep a wired mouse around as backup.
1. It will give incentive to find the wireless mouse.
2. It always seems to take up more room as its wire always gets in the way, harder to lose, no dead batteries when you do need it.
3. If it does turn out to be the cat, you can follow the wire to his hiding place. Hopefully not the litter box.
