• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Any one here tried Modding Star Fleet Command? Any of the Versions? I am trying to do a few mods and Some of it is A little easier than Armada but some seems more in depth.

Although I'm not modding SFC, I know two very useful sites:
Links are NOT allowed unless authorized be an Admin! - Do not post links again without them being authorized by an Admin, namely Majestic or Myself - Syf
Hope this will help you.

K_merse, Though Links have been Removed (Do to Site Rules) I did notice them before they where removed, and I Have been to those sites before and some people here are not on those sites, that and theirs is not really much of a turn around at them.

Majestic, If more People here are interested in modding SFC (in any form) would a Section be able to be created to devote to it?

I wish to add all stock ships to the game, and remove most of those that are not stock, I plan on doing a Total Conversion of this Game, I have Installed a Miranda Class Into the Game and am currently working on making a Variant that Matches the Load out for La Patience's Miranda in Crossover.

If there is a big enough need then the answer is yes.

I used to do quite a bit of SFC modding, yeah. I was trying to convert it back to it's roots, to a nice TOS-era SFB style, but it didn't really work out.

SFC has a lot of potential, but unfortunately a few key areas seem to be hardcoded, such as weapons. If we could add new ones, then it would be great. (Though, I'd better check now, knowing my luck a breakthrough has since been made...)

Firstly, keep in mind the rules are set in place for specific and practical reasons. While some may not like that one can not just randomly post a link to any site one wants to, there are very, very good reasons.:thumbsup:

And for the record, yep, I modded SFC before Armada and Armada II. If you want to mod SFC, go with one of the later titles (like SFC III), as the game engine is more capable. Then there is also Bridge Commander. It is better in my book, as for a game engine. But there are trade-offs on any moddable game. Regardless, I wish you the best of luck on it. If your good, Maybe I'll see about sending a few models your way in regards to CO.:D:p
