• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Currently selling for crazy, crazy discount car stereo prices... But not for long.

You'll have to import your spaceship from elsewhere,... but it has solid animation capabilities, and its currently absolutely flithy dirt cheap.

How cheap is it?

Approximately 6.2 of the Queens English pounds at the current rate, if you're pasty with funny teeth; or 10 dollars if you're some dastardly Texas oil baron or some such. That is for the basic version and a whopping 40 dollars for the 'pro' version which has full 64bit support.

Essentially video game value for software that previously sold at 'industry' prices.

This package has, according to its virtual box, been used for feature films such as Harry Potter; a bunch of other movies i've never seen and, err, Tremors 3.

But don't let that put you off, check out some of the work on the site.

Once the bar is filled the offer is over and its filling quickly... So quickly I probably don't need to mention that if the bar does not fill, you will only get a full refund.

This is a bold move for a business to make regarding the perceived value of their product - and they've cleverly done it so they won't lose either way and neither will you. Other creative application developers should take note - I'm sure this company will have generated a *lot* of revenue by the time the offer closes.

pmG Dare To Share $10 CG Software Challenge

This is a great deal, one I have taken advantage of, getting the pro version, normally $1200, but only spending $40, well just over $41 for me as it's USD, not Aussie bucks.

Certainly worth taking advantage of if you can.

Thanks to SFM's for the link.

Oh and you get your licence once their goal is reached, which is like 75% there already. :)

Thank goodness you posted this Maj. I recently had gotten an email about this and wasn't sure it was something I would want.

Do you think it would be worth having for a modder like me who has very little modeling ability?

I really want to know somebody could make a SOD exporter for it.

And after you buy it and they reach the goal, do they send you the software and registration code to your home address?

I think it will be an usual online transaction, on a very goo price of course.
However, I don't think it would worth it for someone who is modeling only as a hobby. There is no moddable game on the market at this time which would need such an advanced modeling tool.
But if you want to work as a CG designer in the future, I'd encourage you to buy this program immediately.

For $10 or $40 for pro you can't really go wrong.

As for use in game modding, how about for some kind of intro animation?

Well it's not really a program you'd use for making low poly meshes but for advanced animation and mesh work.

For only $40 for an advanced $1200 peice of software can you really say no. I know I can't, and even if I don't use it all that often, it will come in handly one day when I and Syf's team get back into making the games we are making.

And after you buy it and they reach the goal, do they send you the software and registration code to your home address?

From what I understand it's what address you put down when paying. Plus I am not sure if it's just a licence with a download link or an actual boxed item. Being as advanced program as it is I would say it would be the latter.

I'd almost guess that it would be sent out by email with a download link and some kind of key. This seems to be the way that software is going.

I would most certainly be interested if I hadn't bought the Life Time Subscription to STO. Now I dont even have the 40$ to spend. :lol2:

It seems that the goal has been met. Congratulations to everyone who took advantage.

Sadly, I was unable to.

Uh, it looks like it is still on sale - at least for my browser, it still shows the discounted price for both items even in the shopping cart when I go to check it out
