Quick question concerning C store points and the maelstrom. I am not really fond of the "Fleet Escort" classes in general, but I like their loadout better than the promie,(Oh, btw I am now Adm. Zaxxon again. :D) so I was wondering if any of you knew or could find out if I buy the Maelstrom class from the C store, will it unlock the rest of the classes? I would like to know for sure before I go out and buy c points.

If not, then I will just have to convert 551C points to dilithium which I believe is about 120,000 dilithium, just enough to buy the fleet escort classes.

My goal is to get enough out of 800 points from a $10 card to buy the fleet escort class, and the Jupiter costume set. At this point, if buying the Maelstrom class does it, it is only 440 c points, and I will just have to buy another 80 with dilithum to get the jupiter set which is also 440. If not, then I will have to convert most of my c points to get the fleet escort, which will unfortunately leave me about 40k dilithium shy of the jupiter set.(not counting what I already have)

Unfortunately no. The Malestrom is a ship skin (or costume if you will), not an actual ship. Purchasing it will only unlock the parts of the ship for your Fleet Escort. That is the reason it is only 440 CP.

Ok, thanks. Its not so bad, but I wish you could test out the parts of a ship before you bought it so I could see if there was a better combo.

Thanks scifi.

If you have the fleet escort, you can see what the Malestrom (or any part of it) would look like in the ship editor screen. It will just tell you that it will cost X amount of EC and CP to purchase it.

Yeah, unfortunately, I got the Promie thinking I had to be a higher rank to get the Fleet Escort. I wish there was a way to look at the snip and its customizations before I buy it.:(

I honestly think that when you reach Vice Admiral you should get the opportunity to get for free one of the Rear Admiral ships that you didn't buy first time around. It would then make VA a bit more worth it as you'll still get a new ship out of it. That's my thoughts anyway.

Ugh, yeah, they did not think out the upper ranks very well. Speaking of which, when do I get the Admiral uniform/coat? Is is after 200 days, or when I reach a specific rank? And if it is 200 days, do I have to be a gold member?

IIRC you'll have to be VA upper half and be a member for 200 days.
