• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Thanks, I purposely had the bridged recessed for better protection as while she has lineage and design inspired by the Intrepid class, she is an actual warship and is smaller than the Intrepid and is roughly around 300 meters in length.

I like the design, especially what you did with the engines!

My only concern is the relative size of the Impulse engine. Relatively speaking I think that for such a small engine, the ship may have trouble moving around. So may I simply suggest something? What about adding some Impulse engines that are tucked between the pylons yet mounted on the Nacelles? It shouldn't fill too much room and it shouldn't harm it aesthetically. I'm not saying that you have to do it, just that I think it'd be more canon friendly in terms of relative engine sizes with ships.

As you can see, even though it would look great tucked away like that... just seems a bit small. I am simply trying to help is all.

With modern impulse drives including space/time driver assemblies you don't need massive engines to get massive acceleration. Add to that the advanced vectored thrust look of this unit and the only bells and whistles missing seem to be connected to stealth. I think the impules is good:thumbsup:

Personally, I like the size and position of the Impulse Engine. The whole shape seems well-conceived. That applies to most of Maj's recent WIPs.

Ditto again, the whole form is crafted in a very clever, almost fluid, way. A superb design :worship:

The Impulse engines on the Galaxy are tiny, yet only 1 is sufficient to move the entire ship.

The Impulse engines on this are probably more capable then those ones and also on a much smaller ship. Their size shouldn't hurt their performance.

I like the design and it's execution as well.

Looking forward to see her textured.

Thanks all, yes the Intrepid only had two small ones on her nacelle pylons, and the Galaxy as mentioned above only had a small single one to power the ship. The Sovereign class kind of changed things when it was introduced in 96, with it's huge impulse engines, yes they look cool but are pretty oversized and don't need to be that big as compared to the larger Galaxy class. Yeah the Galaxy is bigger, the Soversign is just a bit longer, more streamlined.

Impulse engines on the nacelles are a though I have had and I'll probably have them on a future design. I seem to come up with nacelle designs a lot easier than the ship designs. I do also have several more ship designs, one a early WIP that I plan to get back to after COE.

I really like this one, the twist on the Intrepid design style is just right.

Excellent work both Majestic and Jetfreak

Woot! Pretty ships ftw! Now I just need a way to cram it in with the rest of my ships, lol.

I am glad you like her. I will be down the track doing another version of her, this time in higher poly. This one was designed for stock A2 and so has a lower poly count.
