• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Im Back to the Community.

Hello all,

Ive come back to the Armada community and getting back into the community after alot of real life issues which hopefully are now sorted.

I kinda did keep my eye in but see the community has died down abit.

I guess im asking to see what projects are still "alive" not to mention new ones. I am also going to try to learn to create models however down to my real life this could take some time.

So please anyone update me :)

Welcome back. :) As I don't know the status of the different games/mods here, I'll let other update you on those.

By the way; Nice avatar of Optimus you have there. :D

Well, Fleet Ops is still going, of course. Future Tense is also still going, but we don't really get a lot of updates. There's also Halo: Fleet Command but we haven't really been doing as much as we should. I'm still depressed that I lost half my H:FC stuff in a system wipe.

Despite the loss of many modding sites and older modders, I think that modding has progressed and (matter of opinion) improved - The Undying Nephalim has released Sigma, the total conversion in a universe of his own, and is currently working on a Starfox mod as well. Megadroid broke the mission blackbox in the last few years, and is finishing up his tutorial and LUA script to allow anybody to create new missions with much more flexibility than the original A2/A1 missions. Fleet Operations has released new modding tools (and a modification manager), and will be releasing even more features in the next patch for stuff that has been asked for years (like techtree stuff and Legacy-style ship-names). Recently there was even a joint/hardpoint tool released by Muldrf. Dedicated modders are still here, providing excellent content :)

For instance, Majestic has three mods in progress I believe, Terra Inc. and K_merse are all proceeding with theirs - and of course the numerous amounts of 1-ship conversions/alterations/additions :)

Welcome back, man! More modders is always a good thing!

Dom is right, Wastelands lives! There hasn't been much work this semester - University has kept me from progressing - but it is not dead. Just dreaming.

Welcome back! though your name isn't ringing a bell, so you must have left before I got here. Or am I mistaken?

In addition to what was already mentioned, Jkc is working on thunderfoots BSG half race mod for stock a2. Me and Majestic are both working on separate BSG mods as well, but ours are for use in Fleet Ops. There are also members over at the fleet ops forums that are working on some mods that will bring stock a2 into FO so you can easily convert any a2 TC to FO and then begin to use its new advanced coding.

The Major drops by from time to time but he seems to be showing up less and less as time goes on.

Welcome to MSFC Spectre, good to see someone getting back into the Community. Most of the active mods are in fact hosted here at MSFC, just have a search through the Armada section to see what is on and what isn't.

FleetOps and MSFC seem to be the two most active sites these days for A2 modding.

The Major drops by from time to time but he seems to be showing up less and less as time goes on.

Although not interested in MSFC at all, I have tried over the years to see if he is interested in coming here but no go.

Yeah, he did have another Borg Incursion started (BI:Aftermath), but we've heard nothing about it for a few years, so I'm guessing he cancelled it. I believe he mainly mods Empire at War nowadays. You can still see him at AFC though.
