• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hy Everyone

Big fan of the Star Trek Armada Genre, Even more so when I found out about modding:shock:
I started modding around a year ago with the odf Editor/Editpad etc and was amazed at what i was able to do.
Dont know how to make my own models or that though so nothing released yet, If anyone would be willing to help on this then please get in touch.

My Fav Sci Fi shows are Star Trek TNG/DS9/Voy & Enterprise,Battlestar Galactica(Both New & Old),Babylon 5,Star Wars,Space A&B.

Other games I like is Elite Force dont know how to do any mods or maps for that yet! But tryed some that other people have done and was impressed and Mechcommander 1 Only, wasnt to impressed with the second one.

Welcome to MSFC Modigar. Looking for help with modding. We have a few modders here that may be able to offer advice and tips. We also have a few tutorials that apply to modding Armada and Armada 2. Everyone here is a fan of some form of Science Fiction, so welcome aboard. Take a look around.

Just reading your introduction, Im a fan of Transformers too (Best 80's Toy around), Having to sell off my collection now though but I had around 400+ varying G1,G2,Armada,Energon and a few Binaltech, down to about 200 somthing now.
Any help modding would be great, im always looking to improve myself.
I also sent a email to Majestic regarding the Paralels being on hold, I dont know if your envolved on that project,Id like to help in any way I can but Ive only started modding for around a year now and you all probably have much better people envolved that are more clued up at modding than me.

I am involved with Parallels. However, Majestic is the head of that mod as well.

I can tell you, as a Modder, it is a good Idea to get a copy of MS3D, and learn to use it. That's where making mods comes, is making new models. Also, get you a copy of Paint shop Pro or Photo Shop. You can use like GIMP, but that one has problems with making Alpha channels.

Just promise you'll follow the "Modder's code of conduct". If you want to use someone else's materials, then get their permission, and when you release a mod, include a readme, giving proper credits to the original authors and artists of any material. No permission, it can only be used as a private, non-release "for yourself only" mod.

There are several experienced modders here on MSFC.

I used to have a collection of TFs too, and like you, had to sell most of them at one point. One of the sadest moments of my life. But I have restarted my collection finally, after all these years.

Do yourself a favor, try not to let go of them!
