• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Just a small thread to post about items that are in there, this post will be edited at a later date.

I just moments ago added in:
3 MkVII and 1 MKVIII Armours
1 Plasma Dual Cannon MkVII
1 Tetryon Dual Heavy Cannon MKVII

These items are not bound or boundable so feel free to use them and return after use for others in the fleet use use when they get to that rank.

This is a memo to let yall know that there are changes for the Fleet Bank on the way. The hope is that these changes will help generate funds for the fleet. These funds will go into being able to allow the fleet to purchase schematics for crafting, and even to buy uncraftable items from the exchange for members. The Tri-Council hopes to have the details worked out by the end of the weekend. Once these changes have been agreed apon, then they will be listed here and also via fleet mail. Please be patient with us as we try to get things for the fleet in order.

Thank you.

This may come across as a little brash and I am sorry as that is not my intent. I am a little concerned with the number of Cardassian Lock Boxes in the fleet bank. The fleet bank should not be used for personal storage. Any items that you wish to hold on to should be placed in your own bank. We have limited space at this moment and we need all the space we have. Esentially, any item you place in fleet bank becomes fleet property to be used by the fleet. No fleet member will use fleet goods for personal gain. If any member is found doing so, they will be either restricted or removed from the fleet. This is not an accusation. This is to hopefully give members piece of mind that when they donate to the fleet, it is for the fleet, not to line someone elses pockets.

Thank you for your time.

Heh, I will stop putting those boxes in there then. I can't use them so I figured I would just give them to the fleet, as others had done.:lol:

Also, what counts as using fleet goods for personal gain? I know I have probably bought items from the bank either with ecreds or other items and probably sold them afterwards. I always assumed that was ok unless you just took the item to use for a bit. It is usually just easier to buy the item so you don't have to remember which one to give back.

That's all good. I don't mind placing the lock boxes in if you are certain you do not want them. The fleet could always post them on the exchange. I was just wanting the understanding that when you place something in the fleet bank, it is for fleet use. As for the comment of a members using the fleet bank for personal gain, If you buy an item from the fleet to use, then that item becomes yours.....just use it. :D Here is an example of personal gain use of the fleet. Player x removes common item from bank and uses it. When player x decides he is done with it, instead of placing said item back into the bank, it is recycled and he keeps the credits. Another example would be Player y pays the fee to use a rare console, however, instead of using said console, he takes it straight to the exchange to sell and keeps the money.

Again. I was not accusing anyone of any wrong doing. It was just a concern that I had. It is the Council's wishes to build a trusting community on the game just as it has been built on this very website. I feel we have a very good and strong core in place. I was just wanting to ensure current and future players that items donated to the fleet remains with the fleet.

I too, am not using the Fleet Bank for personal storage. I assumed, wrongly apparently, that anyone could draw them out and use them. I placed the ones I put there for others to use. I assumed others in the Fleet whom are of higher rank and farther along in the game might have keys and the items within the box may of a level I cannot yet use. I also was diligently placing craft items in the Fleet Bank because currently I do not have enough experience in the game to be able to craft things. I view the Fleet Bank as a way to help others, not benefit myself. I myself neither want nor need "charity". I'll earn my own way through the game, TYVM.

This apparent mistake of mine has been brought to my attention and you may rest assured I'll not repeat it ever again.

Apparently I have inadvertently struck a nerve with this topic. I seemed to have caused the very problem that I wanted to avoid. You all have my sincerest apology for that.

EDIT: My comment about the use of the bank for personal use was more to let you all know that we, the council, will not use the bank as such. I apologize again that I was unable to make my intentions clearer. I will work to make certain that future notices will be made in a more tactful manner.

Nobody was accusing you of anything Thunderfoot, SciFiFan was merely pointing something out about the usage of the fleet bank and I believe you owe him an apology for jumping the gun and lashing out in the way you have since his comment also once again was not directed at you or anyone else directly, it was once again just *mentioning* something..

You haven't done anything wrong here, you have made a simple request and tried to clarify something.

As for other members jumping the gun yet again and assuming they are being the target of something, perhaps you have something to hide or to be guilty of to always assume you are being targeted and accused when people are simply making a comment, I am tired of this behaviour and will start taking drastic action because honestly, my 12 year old daughter behaves better than that and she has behavioural issues...

I was not, ahem, "jumping the gun". I have nothing at all to hide from anyone. I do have far more to be guilty of than you'll ever want to really know about and very little of it involves anyone here. I was simply stating the facts as I saw them.

I placed the boxes in the Fleet Bank because I thought those of Admiral rank or higher could open and use them.

I was placing the samples I got in the Fleet Bank as well. Because I have no interest in crafting things right now.

I also began budgeting part of my energy credits so that whenever I got about 2,500, I can deposit these as well. Crafting apparently costs money and I wanted be sure that whomever is crafting would have everything I could give them.

I could have been more tactful. But the impression I got was I was being publicly chastised for what I view as a n00b mistake. So I replied in kind. This also will not happen again.

I am sorry that is the impression you got. I will never openly chastize anyone on a public forum, especially over something as mundane as a game.

No worries and I forgot all about this five minutes after I posted. While I may or may not...ahem..."jump the gun", I also do not judge. Nor do I carry emotional baggage and grudges. It happened. It had unintended consequences. It is now over. Movin' on. Besides, I no longer have enough time left to properly carry a grudge. And there will not be room in the casket for baggage, either. rofl.
