Mine is the Omega Class Destroyer. I just love the look of them and their roating sections.

The second favourite is the Narn G'Quan, its quite a beautiful ship in both design and appearence and the witestar gets points too.

I prefer the technical precedessor of the Omega, the Nova Class Dreadnought (the real precedessor was the Hyperion.)
Then comes the Hyperion and then the Narn Th'Nor warship.

There were some really original designs in B5. So many favourites to choose from. I guess for me the Shadows were always the most elegant and menacing, and just plain cool.

Nothing in that show captured my imagination quite like the Minbari Sharlin-class war cruisers.

I'd otherwise choose the Shadow vessels, but you asked for "favourite" not "most viscerally terrifying". These guys terrified me probably more than the Borg.

Or the Drazi Sunhawk, which always made me laugh because it looked like its butt was on fire! :lol2:

And much love for the Omega class, the Starfury, and all the Narn vessels out there. I just love Narns in general. So long-suffering, so noble.... so savage. So much like us. :D

Warlock looks most deadly, but the G'Quans are just plain sexy looking.

she was utterly designed to be cool, beautiful and kick bum... and lets face it a lot of what has come after... pale imitations...

I've always been a fan of the G'Quan, the Vorchan, and the Primus, but my favorite by far is the Sharlin Warcruiser. I loved the scenes from "In the Beginning" where the Sharlins just dismantled the Earth Force ships. They cut through them like they're hulls were soaked paper bags. The way they were depicted made them look so menacing and deadly. In the episodes where they first appeared they invoked fear. You get the definite impression that nothing else from the younger races can stand up to them (for long). That's what I love about the Minbari. No matter whose throwing around what, nobody messes with the Minbari. The Minbari may look like bone-headed pansies but their Sharlins don't and the other races speak softly when a Sharlin shows up. Even the pompous Centauri don't mess with the Minbari.

No cursing... and do not try to outhink the word blocker by using $$s for it.

Lately, I've started to become more partial to some of the older Earthforce ships. I've taken a real liking to the Nova Dreadnought, and the Hyperion Cruiser

picking between the two is hard. but I'm leaning toward the Nova.

Definitely the Omega Class Destroyer.

I do have a lot of love for the Nova class and Warlock class too though.

How have I missed this thread?
Aurora Starfury is my favorite - the whole thing is crafted to be the epitome of space combat design (per our current understanding of physics). As an engineer I look at the thing and struggle to come up with something I'd do differently (I once wrote a small essay to a colleague when he called it an X-Wing clone).

I do like the brutally functional appearance of the EA vessels, however it's the Sharlin that really captures my attention more than any other design. The whole thing just screams "Intimidating" and is just unfamiliar enough to be uncomfortably alien. The Shadow ships also get serious points from me as being the scariest design in scifi (I wrote a small essay on that too). It tugs on so many instinctive fears and I'm not sure if it was deliberately designed to do precisely that or if the creators just accidentally stumbled there (kudos ether way). The only other design in scifi that makes me come close to shivering in the same way is a Borg Cube, which does so because it just exudes power and a complete disregard for "conventional physics" - but that's at an intellectual level not an instinctive level. (I know, I know, no air resistance in space - it still doesn't alter the fact we're indoctrinated by life experience that sleeker is faster.)

I was going to add a similar statement to my post above but the edit timeout kicked in lol.

The intimidation factor is exactly what makes Earth ships so cool to me. They're not aerodynamic (which shouldn't apply in space anyway lol) or perfectly crafted by some artist. They've got bits sticking out everywhere, lots of dark crevices, flashing lights and are covered in weapons. They just look friggin mean haha. You can just imagine those naughty aliens going "oooooh s***" when an Omega comes out of a jump point right next to them haha.

Many times in that show someone would frantically say "jump point activated" alarms would go off the music would ramp out and out came a massive Omega and teenage me would have a nerdgasm lmao.

And yes.. the Sharlin was amazing to. Unlike the Earth ships it DID look more aerodynamic and perfectly crafted by an artist yet it still looked down right scary.
