Disabling the Cinematic Window.

I would like to remove or at least disable the Cinematic Window in the lower right corner of the screen. How do I go about doing this? After eight years of playing ST:A II, I find this feature really does little more than distract me. Just how much RAM does this take up whilst running the game? I guess what I am thinking of is a way to move all the command functions and resource counters to this space instead. Thanks in advance for the help.

You know theres is crtl + i, to hide it :)
But if you want to delete it and move other objects to that place you have to edit the GUI.

Here are the files you need to edit:
gui_fed.cfg
gui_bor.cfg
gui_cardassian.cfg
gui_kli.cfg
gui_rom.cfg
gui_species8472.cfg

gui_interface.cfg is the main file for all GUIs. But: commands in this file which are already defined in the race specific files are ignored by the game.

here is the directory:
"...\Activision\Star Trek Armada II\misc"

Like Armada 1? It's something I wanted to do as well but haven't gotten around to it.

I would like to see someone clever than I am do this. :)

Hello:
Oh wow, that sure looks original and amazing. I am one of the people that make use of the Cinematic Window, but by seeing a gui like this one, I am sure illing to try. Unless there is also a version with cinematic window too:).
Really amazing.

That GUI is absolutely brilliant, Yacuzza. I guess they must be part of Tactical Assault's new version. Are they for just the Klingons or for all races?

:D

Very nice work Yacuzza, I am however more after having the command buttons where the cin window is like Armada 1 has. However I like how you put the idle and filter buttons there, a nice touch indeed.

Yacuzza, that is precisely what I am looking for. I was thinking the other day however. The cinematic cues for accomplishing a Mission Objective in the Sp Campaign still pop up, even with the Cinematic window disabled. Would moving the window center screen so it pops up just before the Mission Objectives screen, which pauses the SP missions anyway, cause problems for players? Since there are no cinematic cues for IA, what you've done here is perfect.

Yes Yacuzza's is very good.

I have taken a shot at this too, not as good as Yacuzza's but it is different. My aim is to get the verbosetooltip pop-ups to show where the cin window normally is.

Still a WIP mind you,

If there's something that bugs you, simply move it away.
Set it's coordinates outside of the screen dimensions and you have what your looking for.

Actually I may move it to the center of the screen. It only shows on certain SP missions and when it is completed it turns itself off just as soon as the Objectives Screen appears. The Objectives Screen pauses the game until the player is ready to continue anyway, so in this case the Cinematic Window actually performs useful work IMO.

Yacuzza, once again I find myself picking my jaw up from the ground. Your work has managed to take a rather ordinary game and turn it into art. I think your stuff is professional grade and this preview guarantees I will be D/Ling TA2 as fast as you can upload it here.

That looks [censored] awesome!!! That has got to be the best GUI I have seen to date. It really truly reflects the klingons as well.
