• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I am trying to do a smaller version of the Celestial Class Starbase, while Draconis_Sharp is doing the actual Celestial. Does anyone have any pics saved somewhere from StarTrekAustrailia?

Here is the Angelic Class Heavy Defense Outpost so far.

Can anyone tell me how to do the docking ring in MS3D?

Yeah that looks more or less correct, I'll send this to Draconis_Sharp, I never knew so much was below that outer ring though.

Start off with a cylinder (something like a 6x24 or better. scale inword the top and bottom stack by stack. Then then last stack, merge the 2 (CTRL+SHIFT+Y). Select the central faces, and delet them. There you have a ring.

I'll PM you one.

Thanks, I don't think I would have ever figured that out.

Indeed, Max has a lot more tools, but also costs a lot more...:x

I have myself, Lightwave in my tools, but that would not help someone with MS3D only.

Sorry DL. I've heard nigh a peep out of DS for months.

There is a plugin I now have for ms3d that lets you lathe things. And up until 3 weeks ago I actually had Max 8 and LW 9. All I used either for was renders though. I'm lost when it actually comes to using either for modeling.

I'll see what I can do in that regard. I know he started the model, probably even finished it, but I think he was going to do the textures too and might not have gotten around to it. I'll try to ask as soon as I get the net back at my home as the only way I have to actually contact him is through X-Fire.
