Hay guise, poll time!

ST:Voyager, while having somewhat of a bad reputation, introduced us to several interesting and recurring races. Who was the best?
The "seems-like-a-****py-show" Kazon? The "I-steal-ur-lung-LOL" Vidiians? The "OMG-u-r-teh-ugly" Talaxians? The "Waste-I-produces-it" Malon? The "I-has-holo-nazis" Hirogen? The "I'm-in-ur-'verse-killin-ur-b0rgz" Species 8472?

Your choice.

As usual, if we missed anything, please tell us! There are several VOY episodes we DO NOT WANT to remember, so bear with us.

In two weeks we'll be back bringing you another MSFC Regular Poll. Until then, have fun. And do not mention Trashhold, or I'll turn you into a newt. :p

the Hirogen were in some of the best ep that Voyager had just to list a few

* "Hunters" - A transmission from Starfleet Command gets held at a Hirogen relay station and Janeway sets course to retrieve it.

* "Prey" - Voyager rescues a Hirogen survivor who tells them a new kind of prey is on the loose.

* "The Killing Game" - The Hirogen implant devices into the crew making them believe they are characters within the holodecks being used for hunts.

* "Flesh and Blood" - Voyager's hologram technology given to the Hirogen has been modified and is rebelling.

and we could not have had "Message in a Bottle" with out them

* "Message in a Bottle" - The Doctor's program is sent to an advanced Starfleet vessel via a vast ancient communications network belonging to the Hirogen, but he soon discovers that only he and the ship's own EMH remain to fight against a Romulan attempt to take over the ship in question.

To be honest I loved them all (8472 being my least favourite mind you), all very unique for Star Trek. However I choose the Kazon as I loved the early seasons where they were running for their lives and while being the most advanced in the region it showed us that large numbers can overwhelm someone whom has an edge up on you in tech.

Yeah I know their hair was a bit on the crazy side but I still choose them.

:lol2: Great way of putting it.

It's been so long since I've seen the show that I honestly don't remember who the Malon were. 8472 was an interesting concept, but they helped make the Borg seem less dangerous. I can't really decide.

And do not mention Trashhold, or I'll turn you into a newt. :p
Yeah, that episode seems to have been removed from canon during the show's run. Paris mentions later that he's never flown at transwarp speeds and the advancements in transwarp tech that were developed in that episode are never brought up again.

Definitely 8472, a serious change from the usual bipedal "add this to the forehead" alien of the week. They could also give a Borg some pure ownage. :D

I voted 7of9... :lol2::lol2::lol2:

But wait, I gots reasons;

Not quite human, not quite Borg... kinda a new species... very... interesting... and complex character...

Kinda echoed the whole Spock thing in TOS - not quite one species, not quite the other - stuck in the middle...

is anyone else with me...?

Also very easy on the eye... ;)

I went with the Hirogen, like HK says they had some of the best eps in Voyagers run. I actually really liked a lot of the new aliens in VOY, they felt much more thought out than most of the ones that were brought in in TNG as 'aliens of the week'

I didn't like much the new species in VOY. They just didn't seem to be as detailed as the Breen or the Vorta in DS9.
The Hirogen were OK, but they seems like lizard-klingons for me. Spec 8472 was also cool, because they looked totally different to the usual bipedal humanoid race.
There was a race which wasn't mentioned above, but I really liked them. Those evolved dinosaurs. It was so much fun :D Or the hyper-evolved human-lizard-sauria :lol2:

The Voth were only seen in one episode hence not a recurring species, however they did appear in one of the stories in the first Myriad Universe books, my favourite in that book.

Neelix was brilliant :)
