• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I have a few games I like as much as my Star Trek based ones (Blasphemy! Burn the heretic!) I used to really enjoy playing online in some of them. Some of them are old. Some of them are really bad (no accounting for taste, correct?) And some of them I've never played online. Take Dawn of War for instance. I came late to the whole WH40K thingie. I found the game just in time for THQ to release the FPS squad based version which promptly made everyone forget all about DoW, WA, and SS. Same with CnC Generals and CnC ZH. I got there just in time to watch everyone run off towards Kane's Wrath and then Red Alert 3. After seeing the way EA mishandled both of these, I decided to stop where I was.

I have some very cool mods for WH40K and the CnC Generals series. I also have all of the IL-2 Sturmovik series. This is more of a simulation than a game and all I've managed so far is to wreck a whole bunch of F4U-1A Corsairs by trying the carrier launch tutorial.

What games do you have? Where can I get them? If I get a good copy, would you be interested in playing online?

I actually dusted off my copy of CnC Generals/ZH last week. Had a great couple of days re-aquainting myself with this great little game.
Reading your post, has just reminded me that I still have the mods for it somewhere, that you kindly shared with me (Thunderfoot).
Think I might go and start tinkering;)

Avon, I have forgotten what mods I sent you, lol. Could you send me a copy back, please? There is a music mod I think I sent you, but I cannot remember and I cleared out the thumb drive I keep the mods for CnC on. We really should find some time and play.

LT, Dawn of War is something I only recently started fooling around with although I've had the game fro about a year now. perhaps you could show me some things about it online sometime?

I don't play many games online or via LAN or even by myself these days.

However the ones I do when I do are:

  • Star Wars: Empire at War (Not FOC as I haven't been able to find it)
  • Empire and Earth (Got the Sequels but Katala and I both aren't fond of them)
  • Star Trek Armada 2, pretty obvious there.
  • Star Trek Armada 1 (just wished the sound would work on that one)

That's really about it for the PC.

I do however play the Halo games including ODST with Katala on the XBox360 at times.

I'd love to be able to sometime, though admittedly I haven't had much luck in online matches.

I have not had any luck as well. Everyone wants to play as the Space Marines. and they have some weird kind of system in place which I can almost catch onto until they change it around. I like the Imperial Guard and the Orcs, I think. Both have some very amusing dialogue.

Well about time his thread picked up lol. For those of you that can handle the graphics there is a pretty sweet game out there (online FPS only) called Shattered Horizon. For those of you that wanna leave earth behind but enjoy the view lol. Might be a lil pricey for a game with no Campaign, but im personally a fan of the engine and gameplay...and looks lol. Well hope some one checks this out.

...such a lil fanboy :cool: check the pics out all are ingame...except the boxcover which i find dead sexy :lol2:

IG are my favorite army, Battle Sisters are a close second though. :)
