- This is a slightly clever re-interpretation of Amateur's inaccurate Akula model which he orignally released in his TMP
Ship Pack some time ago. Truth be told, his version of the Akula had a number of problems. The necks were not shaped
correctly and the torpedo launcher was too small. In fact, it looked to be a different class altogether in the eyes of
experienced ship junkies. Still, there was no reason to see his great model go to waste.
- So with a little bit of thinking and tinkering, I re-interpreted his Akula as the Sparrow Class. Using a re-texture to
differentiate the model, I've developed a distinct look to her that brings the design to the TLE-era. I've envisioned
the Sparrow as an interim design during the early years of the 24th Century before newer designs were fielded by Starfleet.
The ship is a "gap filler" in the capability range of the era's fleet. Advanced compared to the Kirk-era but she fairs
average in the Ambassador-era. This particular ship is currently represented by the USS Lancer.
