YY Favourite Frigate [Poll]

Every couple of weeks I will post one of these polls asking members/staff to choose their favourite design (ship) from selected races, that includes you too Syf.

The aim behind this is more out of curiosity than anything.

Considering the Federation, Klingons, Romulans and Gorn are the most complete they will be the only ones to start with until the other races start to move forward.

The first up is the frigates, may as well start at the bottom and move up-wards.

The Candiates are:

lol i pict the D4 by accident i whas ment to do the gorn one it looks superb id love a pic of some gorn frigate vrs the excelsior class

oh and is the akula class in it because i love it its beautifull but not as good as the Excelsior Class

Don't fear Excelsior the Akula is the Federation destroyer, one up from the frigate.

Well looks like the D4 is winning the race. It too is my favourite followed by the Okinawa.

I voted Fed. because one, My father was station in Okinawa during the Vietnam war, and second I always fancied the Feds. But the D-4 came in a very close second.

I voted for the Gorn... At least of these choices,

I think one of the other races not listed will take my "favorite" spot. I just can't say yet because people would want to see it.

As much as I usually love Klingon TMP Designs, the D4 doesn't do much for me. However, the Okinawa, well, on KA2 they are invaluable for holding off those early freighter attacks and adding some bulk to Destroyer Flotillas and Cruiser Squadrons. So, Okinawa gets it for me

Strange, I notice you have the Romulan War Bird Class (Bird of Prey) as a Frigate. I would have called it a Destroyer myself, personally. What is the Romulan Destroyer, btw?

The Littlehawk class (one of my favourite Romulan designs) is the destroyer, originally the BOP was a destroyer but the Romulans have had the most shuffling out of all the races and I felt it strange to have the ENT era BOP as a frigate yet not have the TOS/TMP BOP buildable.

As far as I am aware the Littlehawk is another Syf design. The below images that were not too long ago posted in the screenshots thread have the Littlehawk in it. Its the small vessel in the bottom left hand corner of both pictures.

Thanks, most of YY models are original, just an estimate off the top of my head I say we have about 75% Syf design, 5% other fan design and 20% canon design.

One of our aims is to bring our story to the mod and thus what we see the era as. So players will notice bits of original material mixed in with what we like from Starfleet Battles and other non/semi-canon sources.

They should be, I dug into my old Federations/Mirror Wars archive and found that the Littlehawk was actually made by Syf for Mirror Wars.

Yep, guilty. We converted it to YY because We thought it was a good model. Perhaps we can get a pic of what it originally looked like up here. It is actually about 3 1/2 years old. The design was original then and is still now. At the time of making that model, I had never seen anything similar.

Indeed it's funny how much of Federations/Mirror Wars is popping up in Yesteryears and Rift Wars.

I can think of more than a few designs off the top of my head.

The only problem is the next poll, as I love the Gorn Pazak and the Romulan Littlehawk it's going to be so hard to choose. :x

Would that include me? Sometimes confusing since I was apart of all the earlier Mods.

Destroyer wise, has to be the Akula Refit, hands down. Is the YY Klingon Destroyer a B'rel, or another home brew design? (I have seen a B'rel in YY Screenies but since I don't know what ships your using for what purpose, and there is no reason why KA Style designations should have any bearing on YY, I don't know what hull class your using the B'rel for )

Maybe a unit list (for the publically acknowledged) sides is in order?
