Well since we are still getting the last Heavy Cruisers, Command Cruisers and Dreadnaughts ready I thought I would do something a little different this time around. Basically this poll is your favourite Federation cruisers, there are many cruisers I haven't included (map) but a few map cruisers I have. I also did something different with the images tis time around, feel free to use as wallapapers if you like.

Enjoy and I am looking forward to the winner.

  • Federation Miranda Class
    Light Cruiser
Mainstream light cruiser for the Federation, since her introduction into the fleet the Miranda has become widespread in her usage and deployment with vessels belonging to the Miranda class being spotted all over the Federation. While not as powerful or verstitle as the Constitution class, many say the Miranda class is a better all round cruiser and may someday replace the Constitution, this has so far not come to pass.

  • Federation Phobos Class
    Light Cruiser
One of the few Federation designs designed and built solely by the Andorians and the Andor shipyards, the Phobos is more a warship than an exploration ship and has the bare minimum of science labs and creature comforts. Historians from the late 24th century actually refer to the Phobos as the Defiant class' predcessor being the only fully deficiated warship aside from the Ulysses and Federation classes to enter service in the last 100 years.

  • Federation Malcolm Class
    Assault Cruiser
The only Federation assault cruiser in service, the Malcolm has set it's mark in the fleet and while rare due to not too many being built, has been in every major fleet engagement since her commissioning. The USS Atlantis one of the first Malcolm class vessels to be commissioned has become legendary for single handendling swarfing a sneak Romulan attack on Cetius III after the Gorn and Federation set up a joint colony together.

  • Federation Constitution Class
    HeavyCruiser
Thanks to the USS Enterprise under Captain James T Kirk, the Constitution has make it's mark in the history books as not only the most versitile starship to ever be constructed but the longest lasting to this date. As for today the Constitution is 60 years old and still going strong and while none of the original batch are in service anymore new vessels are being built. DEcomission of the class is expected in the next 15-20 years but so far Starfleet Command has held off on this until a class that can match the Constitution class in firepower, exploration and durability can be commissioned.

  • Federation Constellation Class
    HeavyCruiser
One of many Heavy Cruisers in Starfleet, the Constellation was designed as a replacement for the Constitution in the early 2380's. She was unable to meet the standards of the Constitution in the verstile and durability needs but in firepower and combat she excels and for this reason along the Constellation class has entered fleet service although in limited numbers.

They're all nice looking ships, decisions decisions...
The Phobos class was very tempting but there's just something about the refit Connie that has always tugged at my heart.

I voted the for one you call Consititution class (sorry, but no matter what, I'm still going to know her as Enterprise class).

phobos!!

kinda inspired a new nextgen/nemesis design.

When i say inspired. i mean it is pretty much that, just made with a sovvy saucer and nacelles :p i apologise, i just had an itching, anyway i doubt it will get anywhere beyond my computer as people have already topld bme to stop the fed ships :p (joke)

anyway back on topic, they are all well made but the dual hull type design of the Phobos wins for me!

Another one of those grey areas in Trek. I've heard it called Constitution class, Enterprise Class, Constitution Refit Class and a few others. I nearly always go with Constitution Refit but I decided to just use Constitution with YY which may change before release as you all know me.

Yes I have seen that TNG rip off of the Phobos class (known as the Locknar {sp?} class actually).

Both Syf and I really liked the design and it pained us when we decided to move it to map status, but I plan to have it on the map and under the players control quite a bit to make up for it. ;)

Constellation class for me. I've always been fond of quad-nacelled vessels.

The Loknar is actually (or at least originally was) a TOS design, made by FASA, and shares the same design style as the Phobos. As for the TNG rip-off, I've not seen it yet, so don't know =)

You are right Atlantis, the Phobos is based off an TMP refit version, I didn't like the name Loknar so we used the name of the actual ship, USS Phobos as the class name.

I'm gonna have to go with the Phobos though, it looks like it can do some damage!

Ah, so the Andorians studied the doctrines of Jackie Fisher then ;) and the Jeune Ecole theory.
