• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well, I'm late to the party as usual. Of course I want this mod. Cant believe Armada2 has been out this long without a TMP mod. :cool:

Well there are two other TMP mods that I know about being produced, one by SquireJames and one by Terradyne.

Well Chiletrek, since the mod has gone private, this is the only place updates for Yesteryears can be seen so I hope that will entice you to visit more. :D

Its safe to say my vote was a Yes. I would even go as far as to say I would sign a legal waver to be able download this MOD.

Neither KA2 or E&F2 have the quality that YY does.

I don't mean to sound negative on their parts, but they're using really horrid textures, at least, I think so. I mean, look at the Tholian textures on Terradyhne's Tholian ships. I'm sure a fair amount of work has gone into them, but they look horrid.

KA2 & E&F2 are projects which I think of as 'medium' project. The way I see it, there are four types of 'actual' projects. There are those I think of as basic, who just replace ships, maybe add a few news ones in, then there are the medium projects, who alike those two mentioned above, get a storyline, and work around it, but just add new races and such.

You've then got the heavy projects, such as YY, ZH & AoE (from what little I know) who have added not only new ships and stations, but who also work on the gameplay and map objects.

You then get the 'elete' projects like Fleet Operation and Dogs of War who try to do everything. - Some things they don't do, others they manage to work, but the concept is as this.

An opinion your entitled to of course, I just like having a stir. I still have intentions of showing off what we do and have done. Just got to find the time to do it. On that note I have something coming in the next few weeks with any luck (time permitting). More on that... well when it's here. :p :lol:

Let's just say in the last 24 hours, I have been working on models... I can't speak for what Majestic is doing ATM. I couldn't tell even if I wanted to.:silence: :lol:

Mine's done half the self destructing job for you - in that the wireless signal keeps dropping out to my laptop (oddly doesnt effect my xbox, or my brothers pc):x

Yes it's all hush, hush. What I can say is that will be be showing off some new models that haven't been shown yet to anyone apart from Syf and myself.

Feel free to guess away, harmless chit chat, well there is no harm in that. ;)

Some kind of TMP era Klingon dreadnaught loaded with offensive weaponry to make Joel :drool: lol?

Or new look federation starbases with huge armour plating and missile batteries for the aggressive Terran empire?

I don't know... What's the temperature where your at? If it's below freezing, then your probably cold... unless you have the heater cranked up, then your probably nice and toasty!:lol: :lol:

I will say this... could be..maybe, maybe not.:p

We have things moving in a positive direction. It really falls on how much modeling I can do, then how much coding Majestic can do. I sent him a model and he has coded it. I have several other models in "wip" mode, still needing to be textured before I can send them to him. Then it's a matter of how much time he has to spare. But things are moving forward, and that means an update is "building".

lol, sorta warmish now... its naturally cold, but the heatin was on for a long while lol.

I guess i'll have to wait for the update to find out how close i was then :lol:
