• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

The title explains itself. I am simply asking around as I have some things that I want to integrate into my copy of legacy. However, I find that a some of the ships/models I wish to use require something called Trek Battles 2. And I have stock. So basically I do not know the specifics. But I was hoping that maybe someone could convert some things that require TB2 so that they are stock compatible.

Either that... or maybe it might be helpful if someone told me the benefits of having TB2 or the other major mod Ultimate Universe (UU). And also I would like to know the risks of installing ships that don't have them in the requirements in terms of compatibility.

I mod for legacy. most of the things that require a certain mod will actually work for all of them. not all of them, but alot of them. My personal favorite mod is Aftermath with a few of my own modifications, but trekbattles is good too. I just don't like how many ships there are in it. It really seems cluttered like some a2 mods are. Ships don't have a definite role.

So if a mod requires Trek battles... it should be usable for Stock?

No. Not unless you have, whatever the modified file that it requires is, in your game. I think there is something that is the equivalent of the rts.cfg file in a2 that is changed by most mods.

Its been a while now though, so I don't remember exactly what it was. I just know that, without much trouble, I was able to get almost any model to work without a crash in Aftermath. Sometimes it required an odf adjustment, but generally, they simply worked.

It's all ODF alterations. The models, regardless of what Legacy TC its' from, needs no changing all you need do is change the weapons to that of whatever you have in your current Legacy install. Sorry this comes a bit late.

Also personaly, regardless of how much stress is put on your graphics card afterwards, UUM is still my top pic. Like most Legacy TC's there will always be ships that have absolutely no purpose unecessarily taking up memory space but that's why your there to further mod that TC into your own specs. :D
