• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

What makes MSFC different from other forums?

First of all is, that you can have a direct line to the admins.
Second one is that we are pretty much nice to each other.
Third: No other forum has subforums about Modern Space Combat and Babylon 5: Age of Expansion  and Parallels, of course.
Fourth: It is kinda more personal. Other forums are huuuge. Like a nice little party and a large parade (not a military one).
Fifth: The admins are no god-like people that watch from the admins-olymp on the regular members!

My opinions on that. I am sure I will think of some other things...

I love this place. The avatars are great. Emma's is pretty cool, I've always been a fan of Queen Amidala. LoL. Don't tell Amy I said that. Oops, she'll know anyways.

Anyway, another good avatar is Intrepid's. Looks like it's Sean Connery from "The Hunt for Red October". Definitely was an exciting movie!

We all also have so much in common here. I own my own site on my server, but did I mention personal things on my site as much as on here? Also, I get to get in contact with people here. I just talked with Hellkite on MSN last night - actually talked. I didn't know MSN had the ability for sound conversations. w00t! Hellkite sounds like CaptSyf sorta. It was funny I was asking how fast he went in a jet at the fastest, and he said "That is classified." That's pretty cool, true, and funny all at the same time. LoL.

Dang, we all have fun here! Majestic's site in the beginning started the forum revolution. And I went along with that as well, creating my own forums, but after coming such a long long way, Majestic is a pro at this. The admins here are great as well.

God bless you folks.

Seems like I am doing a fair job.

I started this site long ago on the 1-2-free-forums server as Elrond has said in the past. It was created as I wanted a more personal forums, and I wasn't all too happy how others forums were run. Some were so badly run with flame wars and spam was a comman day thing, other were run so tightly that half the time it wasn't worth posting as the Admins came down with an iron fist. Also most of the time you wern't noticed or even given a thank you for doing work for the site, so I said forget that.

Here I try to runs things differently, I try and run these forums with a mixture of the two, with only coming down hard when fights and junk like that occur. My policy here is that everyone is welcome as long as they respect all the members and staff here and don't go out trying to break the rules.

This site has been in strife a few times throughout it's life, mainly back on the forumup server and the predcessor of these forums. It was mainly members who had trouble following the rules and had personal problems with me. There has even been times where I have been temped to close the site down all together.

But apart from all these problems the site has survived and has grown. Member have left, new members have joined, staff and joined, staff have left but the site is still here. I now think that it is worth the money I pay to keep this place running.

This place is my little escape from reality, my social life isn't the best due to a few problems with spiteful ex's and so on which I won't go into. So most of my friends are here.

I try to make this site the best I can with every few months adding something new like new features and pages etc.
I could go on for ages about this but I will stop my essay here.

Nice thread you started Emma.

This site has a lot of things going for it, and I believe that one of the major things is the kind of people who come here!

I think of everyone here as friends, even though I haven't met any of you in person. I feel as if this place is a little community, and we are all here to support each other. I like how the people here don't judge, we all know that everyone makes mistakes, but we feel no need to draw attention to them because we don't judge people by their mistakes.

I am also now getting excited and feeling happy for people here, for example, when Elrond and Amy got married, I was so excited for them, and I am quite excited for Hellkite as he is about to become a dad within the next few weeks!

I think it is the fact that there is such a supportive and caring bunch of people here which sets this site apart from the rest. I like how this site isn't swamped with members who you never get to know, and I like how I know at least one thing about each member here. For example, Blindeye hates The Nanny (hehehe) and Zered ploughs through animals with his car (LoL, just joking! :D ) and how Hellkite is fighting hard for his country in Iraq. It just makes everyone here more human and approachable.

You guys are the BEST! :D  :worship:  :lol2:

Time for an Update.

This is not a bad thread, Found it while watching the Who's online page and a yahoo bot was looking at it and I thought what they hay...

Any who, People here are not like they are on other Boards, their is no need to try to better than someone else here you are excepted for who you are not who you pretend to be. Everyone is forgiving of mistakes, don't really see many people get banned that often, and like what was said this is Home away from Home. Always something to do here.
